Confessions of a piglet!

Oh my goodness, what a piglet I've been this weekend

Saturday night my aunty took me and my other half out to dinner as it was OH's birthday yesterday and mine is later this month. Had scampi, chips and peas (posh, eh?) followed by the most enormous fruit pavlova but it was so gorgeous I just had to eat all of it (and suffered for it later, feeling like I had a couple of bowling balls in my tum) and a couple of glasses of wine.

Then yesterday we went out for lunch with OH's parents. Fortunately (thought I) father-in-law had emailed me the website of the pub we were going to and they had their menu online. I had planned to have poached salmon and prawn salad (yum yum!) but when we got to the pub I discovered that they run a completely different menu on a Sunday so got stuck with the carvery and then had what they called "strawberry crunch" for pud, which was pretty much just Eton Mess made with strawberries instead of raspberries.

And then there was birthday cake for tea, a spot of pate on french bread and another couple of glasses of wine.

Was slightly better today, although I had a croissant for breakfast.

So much for maintaining and trying to keep off wheat and gluten for a while :sigh: I know it was a special occasion weekend so I can be slightly excused but now I'm worried that I'm just going to eat and eat and eat

ETA: Oh and we have a visit from the VAT man in the morning - not a proper audit, just to check the accuracy of our VAT returns and offer any help we might need (we run a business from home) so have been comfort eating like a loony this evening.
