Having rings altered?

Alibongo

Happily pro pointing!
I now need to get my wedding and engagement rings altered as they literally just fall off and I can't wear them any more.

Does anyone know what they do with the gold that they take out? Can you get it made into something else or is it just scrapped?

Not sure there would be enough to make much though, any ideas?

Think you can ask for them to keep the gold in the ring, it will just make the band thicker.

I have the exact same problem, but my wedding band is a half band of diamonds so I don't think it can be altered because the diamonds will 'pop' from the band.

Feeling very bare without my rings at the mo!

hi il be glad to be able to get my original engagement ring on, ad to replace it with a new one a few sizes bigger, wedding ring ok just made a dint in my finger,

I'm wearing my wedding ring on my middle finger now!! I've bought a cheap ring (well a few actually!!) as I can't bear not having a ring on my wedding finger! Can't have mine resized either as it's a spinning ring... so we are gonna renew our vows with a new ring when I'm at goal :)

ive only been engaged a year and im not wearing my ring on the correct finger as its to big. i also got my wedding band for the wedding this september and that miles to big. the girl in the shop where they came from had just started ll she offered to do the alterations for free. we call text and email each other for support most days

LIL K? My wedding ring has diamonds in it and when I had it made smaller the jeweller sorted it out. I don't know what he did but it was no problem to him.

aaaw I want a ring! I have never been able to get rings cos had trouble getting them to fit my fat fingers! Now I've got slimmer ones would say it's the perfect time for my OH to pop the question.....lol!!

I've got to get mine made smaller - there is only my eternity ring keeping my others on my fingers, can't wait till they fit properly again.

I haven't worn mine since before christmas. I'll have all three of them altered and with the gold they take out I am having a charm made for my charm bracelet, in the shape of a gold ingot with the number of lb's I have lost in total engraved onto it.

Both my DH and I have lost weight so neither of us can wear our wedding rings anymore. It's our 10th anniversary in August, so we are gonna buy each other new rings as an anniversary pressie.
