Ok, my ticker sounds confused, i know it says week 10 (cos it is of my LL experience) but it was also week 1 of RtM.

went OK - lost 1.4lbs so was happy with that.

Worried about gaining weight to be honest but whilst ingesting only about 600 cals a day it should not happen.....i hope!!!:p

If you put on weight with just 600 cals a day - there is something wrong! If you sat on your bum all day and did nothing - not even touch the remote, your body would still use up 1500 cals just for normal living acticities, breathing, heart pumping etc, so you have nothing to worry about at the moment!

Im so glad you are here im in week 1 as well and im feeling the same about putting on weight. Im also really shocked about how 1 bit of chicken can fill me up. i had the tuna salad last night for tea and i had a 120g small tin of tuna after i had ate it i really thought i should only have had half a tin. it was very nice. but i put 2 garlic gloves in the dressing i made, no one else is loving me this morning,
keep in touch and we can bounce things/ ideas/ concerns of each other

Actually Corey, to start with you do need to be careful, our metabolisms have slowed right down, if you went and started eating 1500 cals per day straight off you would put on weight, that is why a lot of people put their weight straight back on, they don't follow the programme and just start eating their full daily allowance, we have to gradually add new things in each week and slowly bring up the calorie level and raise our metabolism.

You won't put on weight with eating only 600 cals per day but be careful you don't over do it, stick to what you are supposed to have each week and it will be fine.

We all worried about putting on weight in week 1, you think you are going to balloon right back up again, but we don't.
I am happily maintaining and I am up at 1800 cals per day now and in week 12 of RTM.

I'm up to about 1500 cals a day and still maintaining and losing. Slowly increasing mine now to see where my level is.

My Basal Metabolic Rate based on 5ft6, age 34 and 117lbs is 1310 - that's what I have to eat everyday to just live (ie breathe!). Anything else I do (walking upstairs, working, driving car, exercise etc is all extra).

I wore my heart rate monitor on Sunday when I was competing on a 55km endurance ride with my horse. Now, I tend to allow myself an extra 500 cals on a Sunday for the extra exercise I'm doing. I started my HRM when I got to the venue and turned it back off once I'd loaded up ready to come home. In that time I had burnt up 2200 cals!! So my extra 500 was pitiful.

I SHOULD have had my BMR of 1310 plus the 2200 for the ride, plus about another 500 at least for everything else I'd done that day (mucking out, driving, walking the dogs etc) which means I whould have eaten AT LEAST 4000 cals. I managed an all time record (since Sept when I started LL) of 1700 cals! No wonder I'm still losing weight!!

I also wear my HRM when I run (I run 5.75km 5 days a week) and each run burns 300 cals approx - so I make sure I have my 1500 minimum PLUS the extra 300. Over the next few weeks I'm increasing my minimum to about 1700-1800 cals but still adding on the extras for 'proper' exercise. I'm AMAZED at how much i HAVE to eat now!!
