Foods/drinks that aren't allowed on CD due to causing cravings?

I was just wondering (after reading another thread) about the food and drinks you are not allowed to have due to them causing cravings. If you know you won't give in to your cravings, is there anything saying you can't have food and drink such as coke zero, or the sugar free syrups to go in coffee etc?

I'm just wondering, thats all!

Hiya Ruth, the official CD line is you can't have any of these BUT lots of people do. I occasionally have coke zero or coffee with milk and I don't think its actually made much difference. I really think anything that keeps you on the diet is a good thing. Just don't go overboard!

i have 2- 3 zero coke (cans) a week..(or diet cokes) its kept me from going water crazy, i don't think its done too much harm and i've had good losses so far so i'm pleased, though i have a lot of weight to lose and my calorie intake has dropped by about 2000 a day....so that may be why i'm getting away with it....not much help but it says there're no carbs calories or sugar in zero so can't see why it would be a problem?! maybe wait for a respnse from a cdc to see if they can give some insight/a reason as to why its not allowed, (i know it used to be!)

If you want to have the easiest most comfortable weightloss journey with the blanket of ketosis and no hunger stick to the allowable things rather than look for things that may/maynot affect you.

If you are one of the unlucky ones you can completely blow your diet and undo the good work already achieved.

By choosing a VLCD you are committing yourself to be structured, to detox and learn to re eat again.

The rules are there for a reason - the choice however is yours.

I appreciate that there a rules for a reason, I just wondered whether this reasoning is based on scientific fact based nutritional evidence, or based on a precautionary just-in-case approach???
