going to start or not

i am seeing a w8 consultant tomorrow with a view to starting the w8 diet. i am very very very nervous and not sure how this will fit in around work, children family meals.
i need to lose about 7 stone but just to get under 20 would be great. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. my meeting is 10 with the shilton w8 person. any one else doing the same, any advice or anyone using the same group?how crap does it make you feel, is it really worth doing? what are the meal replacements like?

Hi there Motoguzzina (take it you're a biker chick!!! - good for you I just ride pillion on OH's BMW!!)

Just potted your post on the Brides-to-be forum.

Check out the Weight-matters W8 forum - there are quite afew of us doing the diet on there and everyone is really friendly and helpful. If you browse some of the posts you'll get some great tips.

In answer to your specific questions - this has been my experience so far.

I wass worried about my boyfriend eating in front of me, having to shop for food, preparing his meals - but I personally have found it ok. I have been having such great weight loss so far - it really motivates me to stick to it. To be honest I really am not bothered if someone eats in front of me, I've not even been tempted to pick whilst I have been cooking. I don't have kids - but there of plenty of people on the forum who do - and are coping fine.

I thought work would be stressful but I have just been away and most people were supportive. If you feel it would be too difficult to not eat at all then think about the regular plan - you have a meal every evening which would make things a little more "normal" weight loss is still expected to be 2-3 stones in three months - the rapid plan with adding a meal one week in four is 3-4 stone.

I prefer the soups to shakes - They are actually really tasty like a thick creamy cup-a-soup.

I personally have only tried the vanilla, latte and choc out of the sweet ones and whiz them up with coffee for breakfast.

I have not felt crap at all - in fact I have felt brilliant - really energetic, my skin has cleared up and I have not felt hungry at all. Other people do feel a bit yucky for a few days but usually it passes after 3-4 days.

I don't know whether anyone else goes to the Shilton group - I have a consultant but I see her 1-2-1 which is nice and there are lots of people doing it online with support from here.

Check the forum out there is loads more info- and if you have specific questions ask over there and you're bound to get more replies.

I've got 4.5-5 stone to lose but two and a bit weeks on I've lost a stone already - its fantastic - go for it!!!!
