Ello...!!

Well... I chickened out of driving up 2 York today, weather was too bad and 70 miles was way too far to be drivin in this weather!!

However... Went to the East Mids designer outlet and bought... Alot!

2 Ben Sherman denim mini skirts size L! (back to those in a bit!)
Pair of Levi denim shorts size L! (Apparently a L is about a 12/14?!)
A skirt from NEXT in a size 16 (for the next few weeks hopefully!)
Pair of Reebok bottoms for the gym! (18!)
A few bits and bobs from M&S!

Anyway..... what the question was...

what is an "acceptable" length for a denim skirt?!?!! I'm kinda thinking I've gone a bit short... but I'll wait for feedback until I declare the length!! xx

Whatever you feel comfortable in I'd say - not sure there is a 'length' as such --- for me it would be only just over then knee and feel like a mini - but I'm nearly 40 so a hell of a lot older, you're young and will be able to go shorter.

Well... at the moment... it kinda hangs about 2 inches below the bottom of my bottom

..... You see... somehow... impossibly, the skirt does up?!?!!?!!! But it does look horendous!! I am thinking that once my fat ass gets smaller... and my legs don't look like tree trunks... that the skirt won't have to stretch around so much and will become longer?!?! Possibly?!! LOL!

Yep I agree that it will get longer as you slim, only you know though whether you'll wear it and most importantly feel comfortable in it ........ if you do then you go for it :)

Good on you - if I had young legs I would do too........ specially if my legs were the length of yours :D

Re the bra - you think so? Still in 44's and odd 42's --- maybe a trip to a shop is needed to see ---- be great if I were and you'll hear me scream!

haha nice one claire :)
Its so fantastic that u have the confidence to wear a mini skirt- wouldnt have done that this time last year eh? shows how far u have come!
yeah I agree about Katie! I did post that on another thread but dont think you have seen it. I used to be a bra fitter and normally a size 16 corresponds with a 38!
Get fitted!
You will notice ur figure so much more with a decent bra :D xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm in a 40DD  and I'm about an 18/20 on top atm...

Claire, I think whatever you feel good in is the length you should wear!

ha ha jabba arse.
sorry :) x

Hey Missy
I am going to have words with you before I comment on the skirts.
Re read your posts and look at how you have spoken about yourself. The reason I jump on this is because I do it too all the time. Don't tell yourself you have a fat arse your mind as you well know is way too powerful to be feeding(sic) it that kind of thing. Same as the comment about the legs. I looked at your pics and thought blimey I wish I could have lovely legs like that. Time to start talking about yourself as slinkly lighterlife claire.
And as for the skirts you know with the right top and shoes or boots you will look stunning. As Katie said us 'older' ladies have to look at things that are alittle longer perhaps but you....the world is your oyster. Wear what you like and start creating the Claire style of dressing why not.

And you fit into Levi's I am jealous, you see my legs are still to big for them and I am down to 13st 4 (this morning)
Blah blah blah listen to me harping on, maybe I should go do the dishes.
