desperately seeking weight loss

wondered if anyone out there can help with my sorry tale ... went on cambridge diet in jan 2008 with 2 stone to lose. after 2 weeks had lost half a stone. yippee! that was 2 months ago. since then no weight loss at all. Don't suggest more water, i've drunk enough to fill an olympic sized pool, all that does is make me sound sloshy when i walk (nice), and have me in the loo needing a desperate wee every 5 minutes. Nothing works, too much water, too little water. Haven't eaten a meal since christmas, as nice as the shakes are, i'm not sure i can face the rest of my life confined to no food. Have only eaten 2 meals and then put on 3 lb!! I have 9 days before i go on holiday and at least 12 lbs to lose. Anyone out there got any helpful ideas?
thanks:confused:

Whoohoo so glad you joined us Melon!!!! Can't quite believe I managed to get you on here - I'm very happy!!!!!

Hope you get loads of replies coz as you know my only suggestion so far has been to up the water - and we all know what you think of that!!! lol

Keep smilling, I'm off to meet new CDC now.

:vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: Lots of positive vibes to get those scales moving!!!!

:whoopass: No reason to use this icon, just haven't had the chance yet and fancied telling you off!!!!

Hi hun, if you are following CD SS plan and have done so without eating since January there is no physical way you can have stayed the same. If this is the case for you then I think you may need to see the doctor as the only explanation could be some medical condition!

gosh I have no idea what it isn't coming off but just wanted to say what tremendous perseverance you have.

has your CDC not come up with any ideas ? or perhaps phone Cambridge and ask to speak to one of the medical folks there.

sending you lots of :vibes: for the scales to move.

p.s have you lost inches ?

I can't understand why you haven't lost either. If you've stuck to sole source 100% then you should have lost. I would speak to your CDC about it.

Hi there. If I were you Id get your blood tested to see if you have hypothyroidism. I remember after having my son 2 1/2 years ago I was on a low fat diet (quite strict), breastfeeding, going to the gym for 1 1/2 hours twice a week, salsa dancing for 2 hours a week, and swimming 1 night a week. I didn't lose a pound! The hard part was trying to explain to people how hard I'd been working - they all raised their eyebrows and I was gutted.
It was a couple of months later when I was so exhausted I could hardly lift my baby up and was an emotional wreck that I went to the Dr with what I thought was post natal depression. She had my bloods taken and I had an extremely low thyroid level. It explained everything!
Sorry to waffle on but I know just how terrible it can make you feel to try so hard and not get the results.
Good luck.

hey there - sorry to hear you're stuck.....

what plan are you on ?? you must be sure to have all the packs recommended for the plan you're on....I had a client who was on 790 and decided (cos they weren't hungry) to just have 1 pack and the allowed meal each day - weight loss STOPPED !! cos body had gone into starvation mode and was holding on to every bit of extra weight... once they followed the plan (ie 3 packs plus meal plus milk) weight loss started again......

the bottom line is - if you are follwoing Cambridge as in your yellow book - you can not fail to lose weight - it's physically impossible...

I have a couple of clients on thyroxine (for thyroid problems) and they have lost 2 to 3 stones......

take it right back to basics - 3 (or 4) packs, 2.5litres of water, NO coke zero, no sugar free cordial, no chewing gum, if it's not in your yellow book, don't have it......give that a go for a week and see how you go.

Also - one last thought - what is your BMI ?? is it high enough for the plan you're on ?? if your BMI is 26/27 or below you need to be moving up the plans......

have a chat to your CDC.....

good luck - and keep us posted !
