ketosis

well you are only consuming 400 cals on the days you dont cheat so probably lose weight still!

Yes you can still loose weight but the grim feeling that you get while going back into ketosis isn't worth it!

It is not worth it i had headaches through the first week of starting the diet thanks for that guys.

it depends.. sometimes you get this like.. glycogen thing which holds onto something.. im not sure the ins and outs of it all.. too technical for me.. but i cheated.. nothing major.. and put on like.. a lb or something.. sorry to be the depresser.. but it isnt real weight.. its just like.. your body holding onto something.. so it will come right off next week if you had..

Not that I am advising you to cheat but if you really really must make sure you have protein. Think ham, chicken or a tin of tuna. Nothing with carbs. Best not to have it as you might start to do it on a regular basis but protein is deffo the best choice.

after my first weigh in on the saturday, i had my first sunday and the temptation struck (sunday roast) - i could not resist the temptation and had a small meal of chicken, mash, broccoli, carrot, swede and sprouts. Not happy with that, I had 2 lower fat hot cross buns, 3 chocolate digestives and then at night a toasted ham and pickle sandwich. Now that is a spectacular dive into self sabotage - yet i still lost 5 lbs that week when i weighed on the saturday. This is despite the fact that it knocked me out of ketosis and it took 3 days to get back into it.
I have learned my lesson - i won't do it again. Perhaps I was lucky but if you don't consume the calories, you must be burning the fat to keep your body going.
I am not condoning 'cheating' but letting you know that if you are asking because you have already eaten, all is not lost.

OMG

OMG.... i have just re read my post and I hope that it doesn't encourage anyone to cheat and think its ok.
Since then, I have stuck rigidly to the CD recommendations so please know that I am NOT suggesting that anyone does it.

Good for you May.... I felt such a failure when I caved in.....
but once i did it, i thought of the old 'well ive done it now... i might as well...'
you know the rest.

Delighted you resisted, you will feel so much better for it.

Can't wait for my weigh in on Saturday : )

You did really well then - coz a sandwich would be the 'worst' food you could eat really. As previous posts say if you feel like you are crumbling you can always have an additional pack or some protein. This diet is about being flexible as well and there are days, when like today you went out and forgot packs - I try and keep a bar and tetra in car - just incase..... xxxx

I most deffo will be keeping spare ones in my car from now on dont want anymore close encounters .:)

michelle good luck with your weigh in on saturday
