Hi :) I am enjoying reading all the posts. I am new and have just registered.
I have been dieting with cambridge diet since Nov and am very happy to have lost 4 stone so far. I know cambridge cant go on forever and after doing Slimming world a few years back and losing 2 stone unfortunatly put it back on all my own doing:eek: I think it will be a good diet for me to follow to get down to my target more slowly now and then maintain. I really enjoy the eating plan slimming world offers. Can anyone answer a few questions for me......

Has anyone here went from Cambridge to slimming world and how did they do in maintaining cambridge weight loss and did you lose any further weight coming off cambridge and following slimming world???

I have all my books from being a member before I also have some more updated books but has the plan or syn values ect changed over the last 3-4 years? I dont have a class near me now and also work shifts so plan to do this solo.

Thanks in advance for any replies luv Alli xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey Alli! Wow, well done on your losses so far! I know the SW books have changed within the last couple of years, probably syns values more than anything but I'm not 100% sure. I signed up to my nearest class a year ago but didn't go back once I had the books but it was because of my experience of class not the diet. I might be worth you get the up to date ones, but if the books you have worked last time I'm sure they will again. As for switching from CD to SW I haven't done it properly myself but it will work, I believe the only time people have struggled is when they did a straight swap from CD to SW rather than go up the plans as you probably know if rushed you'll gain a bit due to re stocking of glycogen stores.

Good luck with whatever you decide. Vx

Hi, i joined SW at the beginning of the new year and the new Food Opt books were out, syn values and Healthy Extras have changed, but sorry i don't know what they were before. So can't help out much really.

Good luck with the plan, let us know how you do :)

Welcome to the group hun and congrats on your weight loss so far.

Thank you girls I think the best thing for me to do is travel to my nearest class which i think is about 20 odd miles and go even just to get a update on the plan and new books. I am planning to slowly ease into SW as i am still on CD at the moment I will start to add in healthy CD meals and slowly swap from CD to SW in the hope i dont put too much on. I am really looking forward to getting onto SW as i love the eating plan and all the options it gives.
If it is ok I will hang around as I am really enjoying this forum and as I dont plan to do classes when I go onto SW i will need support and proberbly the odd question answered. Looking forward to getting to know you all thanks for your advice so far luv Alli xxxxxxxx

oh ment to add i have managed to get my paws on the shopping directories for Tesco Asda and M+S am i right in saying they are still the same and is my food optimising book dated 2005 still valid ? thanks luv Alli

Hi Ali, the food OPt book changed at the beginning of the year, with new Healthy Xs and syn values. They have just brought out the new shopping directory. You could join online....or if you do go to group with the help from us lot too, i am sure you will do great girlie!!

:)

Ali, as you are not planning to do the classes and its a long drive for you have you considered doing SW online?

mmmmmmmmmmm thats a idea fatfighter, but i hear that they only send virtual books via e mail I want to sit down and study them whenever i get a moment. Like someone said before my old books worked back then so i am sure they will still work it might get confusing if i am here though and my rules are different from everyone elses especially for recipes ect I will look into joining online thanks luv Ally xxxxxxxxxx

Or, they do appear on Ebay sometimes!
