how do you thicken your stews on a red day?

on e/e i will use potatoes to thicken a beef stew in the slow cooker but im fully red today and just wondered if anyone had any ideas of how to thicken my beef stew that is currently bubbling away in the slow cooker. its basically beef chunks and beef stock at the moment.

would cauliflower work as a thickener do you think?

A handful of orange split lentils would do that. I never used to think I liked lentils but actually, once cooked on a stew, they disintegrate completely, leaving your gravy thicker. Good for you too! I presume you can eat them on a red day? They are listed in the ingredients for the free super speed soup so they must be.

I take out a bit of the water with veg/meat/potatoes in and blend with a hand blender then put it back in. Makes a thick gravy and thickens it nicely.
