i posted this on another thread but i guess i should make sure ppl see it so giving it its own thread.
hi ladies,
i have been on lipotrim for 2 weeks and have been drinking around 4litres a day.

after speaking to lipotrim however, im now down to 2-3 litres as they said 4 litres is too much and the water is not doing its job if ur drinking that much.
there is also a condition caused by drinking in excess called water intoxication or hyponatremia.
From the cell's point of view, water intoxication produces the same effects as would result from drowning in fresh water. Electrolyte imbalance and tissue swelling can cause an irregular heartbeat, allow fluid to enter the lungs, and may cause fluttering eyelids. Swelling puts pressure on the brain and nerves, which can cause behaviors resembling alcohol intoxication. Swelling of brain tissues can cause seizures, coma and ultimately death unless water intake is restricted and a hypertonic saline (salt) solution is administered. If treatment is given before tissue swelling causes too much cellular damage, then a complete recovery can be expected within a few days. (above copy pasted from information site)
so be careful ppl, its not drinking to excess its drinking steady throughout the day thats the key.
sorry if ive alarmed anyone but i didnt know myself until a few days ago after speaking to lipotrim.

I spoke to specialist today and he said that as long as you dont consume in excess of 15litres it should be fine he said just dont do all your litres in one sitting. xx

Firstly Cheryl, less of the 'Hi ladies'
Secondly im on 16 litres a day:eek:

hiya fattothin,
sorry i forgot the gentlemen of the forum world
16 litres:confused:, thats wayyy too much.
each to their own, i know and ppl believe what they want to believe but the proof of the dangers is there.
im not here to tell anyone what to do. i was in the dark about the dangers until recently, was just turning the light on for others in the dark.

My pharmasist said you MUST NOT under any circumstances have more then 6 litres a day!!

Not sure who's right!

I Cannot Even Manage Two Litres!!!!! Please Let Me Catch Up Don't Think I Will Ever Manage 16 Litres But Should Be Save With 4 Litres. X

my chemist said to drink at least 4 litres a day and more if exercising also food contains mostly water and as we are not eating there is a need to increase water consumption im not saying your wrong cheryl infact you have made me think so ill ring lipotrim 2morrow also ive found and so have many others that if you dont drink enough your weight loss slows down and you can feel dizzy did the article say anything about vlcd or was it for eating people x

hi,
it was lipotrim that told me i was drinking too much.
i called them with regards to ongoing constipation and she asked how much im drinking. when i said 4litres i got a big lecture that i was drinking too much and that im doing harm. she said we need no more than 2 litres, 3 at the most and a half a pint extra for each flapjack or mousse shake.

just to say my chemist gave me two big bottles of evian with my pack and said thats how much you should be drink, they were 1.5 litre which obviously equals to 3litre altough id say i have about 5litre i drink lots anyway, even before the diet (prob 2-3L per day) and i neva had anyprobs and i was eating then, but is something to think about i heard its bad for you thru many people drinking too much as it dilutes nutrients ans sodium levels

That was what he mentioned 'sodium levels'.

You definitely can drink too much water.

EEEeek ... I honestly have no idea what the correct amount of water is, I know I drink between 4 and 6 litres a day and am fine on it.

something a little scary.. I live in York and a couple of weeks ago a man died from drinking too much water (my OH reminds me of this daily when he see's me glugging water). I *think* he may have drank too much on purpose.. but I can't remember the full details..
