Wedding Count Down

So,

I am going to a wedding in May of next year and it is really really important to me that I don't look like the beached whale I do at the moment. The last wedding I went to was my brother's and I lost over 4 stone that time to get down to 9 stone 11. That was 3 years ago and since then I have retrained as a teacher, got my first teaching job, moved halfway across the country, found a new partner and moved in with him and his 3 year old daughter. Which has been a massive whirlwind and been totally great but it has meant that I have put on 2 stone!

I remember how much support this forum was last time, so here I am again to try to lose that weight. As I have until May next year I have a significant period of time to do it. I will be doing Slimming World, but not going to classes as I can't afford it. I am also going to try to go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week and cycle to work at least once a week.

As it happens last time I started on September 1st, so as that falls on a Monday this year, I think this bodes well and I will be starting on Monday with my first weigh in and straight onto the diet.

If anyone reads this and wants to offer some support, this would be much appreciated!

Hi - good luck for your first week. I am also a teacher, what age do you teach? I am dreading going back to school next week and the temptation of the staff room!

Hi Kazrace, I am a reception teacher, and I am also dreading going back to work tomorrow. It is the staff room that is the hardest - I think I will have to avoid it really as there are always biscuits, cakes and sweets. Good luck to you!

OK...Day 1

Weighed in this morning at 12stone 7lbs. Which means that I actually have 2 and a half stone to lose not the 2 stone that I thought! Oh well...taking it slow - little by little, pound by pound.

Starting as i mean to go on with a mixed fruit salad for breakfast.

I havent ever really done Extra Easy before as the last time I did this I was a veggie and stuck to green. Not a veggie any more so can do EE, but if I remember rightly that is only 1 HEA and 1 HEB every day. HEA is going to be cheese most days, so I need to really think about how I use my HEB for maximum effect. I think in the winter time it will be porridge in the morning, but for now I am not so sure.

So far, so good (well done Katy - its been all of 10 minutes so far!)

Day 1 completed and I did ok. Feels good to have committed here to the diet again. I even resisted a cookie with coffee at a friends house, and garlic bread with dinner tonight.

I rock.

Well done on surviving today - can only get easier right?? Only one packet of biscuits in our staff room today and they were pretty easy to avoid. Count down is on to half term :)

It is going ok so far I think. I am not quite totally doing Slimming World as I am still in the process of training my partner into what is healthy and what is less so - so there have been a few slightly off-plan dinners which he cooked. But he cooked, so I am not going to complain!

Finding it quite hard at the moment. Havent managed a full week on the diet yet. Will start again tomorrow. Things just keep cropping up.

Must try harder!

Oh heck, this is not going well. Finding it really really hard. Must get my head in the right space as at the moment I am just snacking on rubbish and not getting very far with the diet at all.

I wonder if it would make a difference if I said out loud that it is MY wedding that I am going to in May, and that I really don't want to be the size I am now in the wedding photos.

I know I can do it - I have lost weight before, I just can't stay focused. I need to focus on my wedding date in May.

Hi here to sub. I am getting married in Feb!
Take each meal as it comes is the only way I am managing lately as like you the motivation isnt quite there even though its MY wedding :-(
However my dress arrived Monday and I popped along to try it on.. it fit but I have found myself being much more conscious of my choices since (hoping to loose 1 more stone)

You can do it! Planning is the key to success once the main meals are in place its just snacking which needs to be tackled
