So it's still my first week and I think I'm doing okay. When I first went to the meeting the consultant told me to do the red/original plan which I've been doing I think. But I've realised that it has higher syn values than extra easy, why is this? And can I do extra easy instead? I can't find anything in my starter pack about it. I'm so confused! Can anyone help?

why did your consultant tell you to do red/green? Usually they trust extra easy upon us! Especially as it's easier for families. I don't like red/green , I have tried them and just found myself hungrier and craving the wrong things. But there are people out there who much prefer the old method.

with extra easy you are allowed unlimited meat/fish/fruit/veg/pasta/rice - the only thing you need to weight out are your healthy extras, which on EE is one of each, everything else, make sure all fat is removed (preferably prior to cooking). Another thing to add is with every meal, always make sure 1/3 of your plate is full of superfree (fruit/veg) and you can't go wrong. Pile your plate as high as you want, there's no overheating to worry about - in fact a lot find the bigger their plate the more they lose! Also don't forget your syns, people average 10-12 a day, use them however you wish, I prefer to use mine on dressings with meals rather than snacks. Good luck, and if you need any more help, we are all here x

Have a read of this, it really explains the whole thing so clearly.

Are you sure your consultant said to do red? I've never heard of anybody being started on the red plan. Did she give a reason why? Basically you can do whichever plan you want so yes you can do extra easy. The biggest book in your pack, the one where you record your weight, is the extra easy book. Foods like pasta, rice, potatoes, lentils and pulses are not free foods on the red plan which is why they would be high syn by the way xx
