Hi all, I am considering returning to slimming world having lost some weight previously. it has honestly been the only club where I actually lost weight! i am embarrassed to say i have rejoined twice so this would be the third time, but they were at least 2 years ago. I am wondering if any of you have lost significant weight having rejoined? I have it in my head that ive already failed as I joined once and left. Thanks everyone!

I lost 7 stone the first time I joined and got to target. Then I stopped going and the bad habits crept in again so much so that I ended up putting it all back on again. I rejoined and am now back at target so it can be done. put the past behind you and think of this as a new start. Although you might want to think about whey you struggled last time and have a plan for what you are going to do differently this time :)

Have to admit I've only joined the one time but I know that lots of members that come to my group and re-starters....they are always made very welcome.

Over the years I've lost weight and regained it again but can honestly say that the SW plan is the best doable long term eating plan I've used.

I have rejoined several times, but done sw seriously twice. This time I promised myself it would be the last time I joined. I have lost 4 stone this time, any other time I think I would gaff given up a year ago might but have list much since then but I am still haven't given up and haven't put on either

You haven't failed by joining once and leaving; how often have you learned how to do something by trying it and learning from your mistakes? Did you play a musical instrument when you were younger, or do you do any crafts? If so, you'll know that you had to practice to before you did things correctly. The old saying of try, try and try again has much merit - particularly when it comes to losing weight! I joined SW twice, both times online. The first time I couldn't get my head around the plan and effectively fought it - it seemed daft to me that I could have unlimit pasta/potatoes etc, but only a measured amount of bread. Also, I made the mistake of not reading the Superfree lists correctly, so I was having peas and sweetcorn which are not Superfree.

However, I saw the result of doing SW correctly in my niece, so I joined for the second time and this time I decided to trust the plan - and to bear in mind that potatoes etc are limited by the 'eat until full, not until stuffed' rule. I've lost just over 4 stone and have maintained for well over 6 months. You can have the odd blip/meal/day/week off plan, but if you get back on and persevere you will reach target.

I am also a rejoiner - i'd given up dieting for 10 years after losing 3+ stone and regaining it all plus more. Now I've lost about 3st again and I'm going for it again but this time with a plan!
1. I'm running 2-3x a week as I think this helps with blips and I'm hopeful it'll help me keep it off
2. I'm avoiding 'diet' foods at least mostly as last time I just ate the normal versions again and regained the weight. (Except liberte yoghurt and total yoghurt as they're really nice).
3. I'm thinking about the emotional side more - I was using a great book called beyond chocolate to help me deal with my overeating
4. I'm initially planning on getting to 13st (when I'll be overweight not very obese) and sitting there for 6 months in an attempt to maintain a new way of life.

I'm the same Willbeslimjen. This is probably my 4th or 5th time rejoining after losing a couple of stone a fair few years ago, so will only be my second "proper" attempt. Granted I have a lot more to lose now, but like you I'm determined it's going to be for the last time! I think it's all about being in the right frame of mind. You have to want to lose weight for YOURSELF, and no one else. Otherwise it's just not going to last.. That's how I feel anyway :)

Great attitude beth you can do it...its not how longs it takes
