very disappointed w.i today

time2bslim

Just doing it this time
my first week - what a disaster. I normally lose around 3 to 7lb's in my first week - I have had a couple of extra's that haven't been counted but compared to how I have been eating for weeks - I have been probably 95% on plan and ONLY lost 1.5lb's - I know it's a loss and I'm hoping that it'll be a better loss next week, but for my first week I'm disappointed instead of being elated.................sorry to moan on, thanks for reading.

checking I've done my signature correct

Aw dont be down 1.5 is great just keep going hun

I sometimes think a lot of damage is done by SW talking about the "fabulous first week". Yes, some people have huge losses, but an awful lot don't. I know it doesn't help you to hear this now, but 1.5 is a good loss. At the risk of sounding boastful, my average weekly weight loss is 1.5* and I have lost just over 4 stone so far. Don't be disheartened - the plan works and if you stick at it you will get there.

*I know this because of Squiddie's fantastic Excel spreadsheet: http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world/305078-excel-slimming-world-record-version-3-5-a.html

1.5lbs is an amazing loss! I have my first weigh in tomorrow and I doubt I have lost that much! As long as it's going down it is all good!

My issue with losing weight is that I want to lose it NOW! I don't want to wait!!!! But I've realised it's a slow process but will be worth it in the end. All these years I've been saying 'If only I had started when I said I would id be at target now' well now I'm on my way. Think of it that way :) x

You've admitted that you've had some extras that you didn't count and only been around 95% on plan but still managed to lose 1.5lbs. I don't think that's disappointing, I think that's a result! If you are 100% next week I bet you will have a great week. Good luck :D

As others have said - you still lost without being 100% on plan. I actually gained on my first week, but I persevered and am now maintaining.

It's worth re-reading your books and making sure you're doing all you should be doing - weighing out HExs, checking you're counting the correct Syns, particularly for items which are Synned by weight rather than per item, making sure you're having plenty of Superfree (and not counting things such as pea or baked beans as SF), etc.

Do you keep a food diary on here? If not, consider starting one so that people can look at it to offer advice. It's also a way for you to see what worked, and what didn't, as you progress on your weight-loss journey,

Don't worry Hun! 1.5 pounds is still a great loss, I'm on my first week now and nervous about how much I'll lose, but it's better then staying the same/gaining!! X

I lost 2lb in my first week 100% on plan. And now I'm nearly at target :) 1.5lb is not a disaster at all!

You say you 'normally' lose loads in your first week - it sounds like you may have tried lots of diets over the years (your stats say WW) and maybe your weight has fluctuated a bit. If so, it might be that your body is a bit confused or metabolism has slowed. Also, some of the people who get AMAZING first week losses on SW have a LOT to lose - sounds like you are not quite in that category.

Don't despair, we all have up and down weeks and if you stick to it 100% or even 90% every week you will be at target soon, probably with some nice surprise weeks along the way.

So, went on to image google to find a picture to motivate you.
These pics are one pound of fat (per pic). Just think you lost more than that! :D

there was one for 5 lbs of fat as well that amazed me.. I suddenly could see why my bum has shrunk!

Its not how long it takes it making a change for life and getting there in the end

thank you all for your replies. I know you are right - 15lb's shouldn't be sneezed at and maybe I shall lose a bit better this week as I have been on plan 100% - thank you all again.
