Those of you who are now size 10/12/8 etc, did you have big wobbly tummy's at the start, along with aprons and overhangs etc, and if so what are they like now please???

I certainly did :sigh:
It is obviously now a lot smaller, I had my dd by CS so had serious overhang, it is an awful lot better, but not gone yet.
I started aerobics classes last week in the hope that will improve things a lot more, I really need some toning. I did very little exercise during foundation.

In clothes I look fine, my tummy looks flat enough, and I am wearing size 10-12 quite comfortably.
It doesn't look so good without clothes :D

I never thought the overhang would go completely, unless I can exercise it back into better shape I won't be wearing a bikini any time soon, however, just being able to wear a swimming costume and not look like jabba the hut is good enough for me.
I am happy with that and can live with it.

I have lost almost 6 stone now - from 18 to 8 and my tummy is flat when I stand up. If I lean forward you can see the skin wrinkling where there is excess, but it doesn't hang or flap at all. They reckon it'll improve over about 8months to a year - but I can certainly live with what I have. If I llift my top to show people my tummy they can't see anything and are amazed.

Debbie do you mind me asking how old you are? If you do don't answer :D was just trying to work out if the skin things was ok for you because of your age.

Yes, this one worries me to. I have lots to lose and my skin does mark/scar easily.

My councellor said that you'll find that once you have hit your target weight your body will then spend about 6 months redistributing the remaining fat around more evenly. She said it would be about 6 months to a year before everything, including your skin, caught up with itself.

I have been using lots of Palmers coco butter everynight and joined a Pilates group to give my body the best chance to keep up with the excellerated weight loss.

I do have nightmares of looking like a deflated balloon, but at the end of the day I keep reminding myself plastic surgery gets cheaper every year and I can cover what I don't like in fabulous size 12 clothes!

All the best and if you want it enough, you'll get it! :party0011:

Yeah, I lost over 6 stone and if I lean forward you can see all the loose flesh around my tummy. I can live with it and like Deb, if I lift up my top then it looks like I have a very nice flat tummy. I can live with the extra skin and hope that it will tighten up a bit over the next few months. I am about half way through RtM. I would much rather have a bit of loose skin which I can hide under my size 8 jeans than be pushing my fat into a size 18 pair. Without a doubt!

Well girls I am the ripe old age of say 60 (well in April anyway) and I must say that my belly isnt sagging too much and I have lost 3.5 stone already. Gone from a size 24/22 to 18/16.

When I stand just ordinarily I do have a small bit of overhang but if I stand tall and contract my tummy muscles, like the tell you in pilaties, it goes completely.

I dont however think I am gonna come through this toned like a 22 year old who has never put on weight, but I will certainly try and tone myself up.

DebG, I really think that riding is one of the best exercises you can do. Evidently it is a bit like sking in that you have to co-ordinate and use nearly every muscle in your body. I am hoping to start riding again in April.

I'm 34 years young....never smoked (that can make a difference to your skin elasticity).

You're quite right - it tones you all over, and especially the tummy area. Now I have no fat on my tummy I can see that the muscles lurking underneath are indeed quite toned!

I've always been active, and having my own horse means that I have ridden at LEAST three times a week for many years. I think that's what really helped with my LL weightloss, and what will really help with keeping it off long term.....espcecially now we're increasing our endurance distances to 80km this year!!!! Me and my horse will look like whippets!

80 km (Christ nearly 50 miles) how many hours is that in the saddle approx.

You must let us know when you are competing so we can wish you luck on your next big competition.;)

hi hun

I lost 3 stone and am now size 8 bottom and 10 top, my belly is fine but am a bit 'spongy' midriff area (under boobs), but I did have insulin resistance where the fat lays around that area, but as a non exercise much person, I could tone up, in clothes I look and feel great, I am presently on holiday and am wearing a bikini, I have ha d many compliments from when I was much bigger last year, but I am far too critical about myself, I know it is all in my head. xx

Well I have lost 4.5 stone in total and the majority of it has come off of my enormous belly. And the overhang is nearly gone, but the skin hasnt tightened up yet. Its not wrinkle central but if you touch it the skin isnt torte.

We are either at training rides or competitions most weekend. Our first 'biggie' of the year is a 40km at Durham Valleys at the end of the March, followed by a 40km at Ullswater the following week.

As we are 'Open' this year we have to travel at a MINIMUM of 10kph - which means we would have to do the 80km in under 8 hours. I would aim to do it in about 7hrs 15 to allow for any problems. It's VERY tiring, but such great fun - and the only sport that me AND my horse both love doing! In fact, he seems to love it more than me.....especially as its the one time in his life where he's allowed to dictate the pace!

His favourties are Bareagle and SIlloth which are along the beach - he gets to run REALLY fast and terrify his mum to death! Great fun for a Thoroughbred!!!

I am very jeolous Debbie, well done you. No wonder your tummy has gone;)

You live in a very beautiful area too, so that must make it even more enjoyable.:D

Thankyou everyone, sounds like there is hope then! s you can see from my gallery pics, I have one heck of a tummy to get rid of :(
