Day Five - cambridge diet

Hi all,

I am new here so forgive me if I get things wrong...

I am doing the cambridge diet and finding it hard so i thought i would give you all a run down on how i have been feeling each day i would be grateful if people could share with me their experiences so i know i am normal?!

Day 1 - i felt fine, very hungry but all in all ok
Day 2 - felt on top of the world, had so much energy it was weird
Day 3 - again felt ok, hungry but ok
Day 4 - emotional wreck!! Absolutely starving, broke down at least four times, had a panic attack, felt absolutely appalling
Day 5 - again quite emotional, very hungry, stomach ache and feeling sick, stomach gurgling like crazy

i am doing sole source, having three shakes a day as dont like the soups or porridge.

Any advice would be appreciate :)

thanks xxxxxxx

I had my worst days on days 5&6. Everyone said it would be the first three days but I was fine on those days. I would suggest a tiny portion of protein on days you feel that bad. Not worth becoming an emotional wreck because of a diet! Your weight loss will still be excellent if you occasionally have a little protein and it won't knock you out of ketosis.

Like it's been said protein will not know you out of ketosis. I have had half a chicken breast a day as I missed chewing food lol. Really helps x

Thanks so much. God knows whats wrong with me. Feeling a bit better this afternoon and have my first weigh in tomorrow so going to discuss the possibility of sole source plus and see what she says. Just wondered if anyone else had the
emotional issues or whether it was just me. To be fair my OH took me to a bbq last night which was pure
torture, food everywhere!!! Then he told everyone what i was doing and of course you can imagine the response to that lol!
Thanks for your replies :) if anyone is looking for a buddy let me know xx

How you feeling today? I have to say today I'm feeling better than ever :) x

Alas, i would advise that you try and resist the urge to eat unless you do step up to the next plan. Part of the problem being overweight (and thus needing this diet) is that we give in to emotional eating and cravings. Try and hold out if you can and distract yourself as much as possible. I had a LOT of early nights and my nails were permanently perfect in my first 2 weeks lol If you can get to weigh in and youve been 100% then the scales will keep you going lol

Good luck with your weigh in! and make sure you ask your CDC to do your measurements too! :)

Hi everyone, i am feeling a lot better, thank you :) had my weigh in (after 5 days) and lost 7lb and 1inch from my waist and 1.5 inch from my hips. Eeeek!!!!!!
Roll on week two!!! My cdc said to eat chicken if i really want to but now she has said it, im not fussed, i just needed that reassurance! I just didnt realise how much my life revolved around food :-(
How is everyone else doing? Xxxx

Well done hun thats super! and if that doesnt keep you motivated nothing will :)

I have my food porn fix! I watch cooking programmes, cook and bake for other people, read recipe magazines, etc....i plan healthy recipies for maintenance and all sorts! lol

Hi ladies, I've started again this week after a few failed attempts. Good motivation and lots of water, they're my tips. Ooo, and go check out the thread of inspirational photos. OMG, really shows what can be done. Good luck. :) x

Im having another bad day - feeling quite dizzy despite drinking loads of water and having my products! Also feeling starving!!!
When will these bad feelings pass?! ?!?! Arghhhhh

xx

When I did the diet before I was told to watch out for day 5/6 as somehow they seem to hit you. Think it's just carb/sugar withdrawal. Stick with it, it DOES get better honest. X

And half a stone in five days!! Wow, if that doesn't make it worth it I don't know what will. Congratulations on that, you must be thrilled! :)

I really hope it does because work was a nightmare today :-(
I dont want to get to a stage where this affects my life :-(
really wanna make it through so fingers crossed tomorrow is a different day

Give the diet 100% and it'll reward you! I promise!!!xx

Current loss: 28lbs and 21inches

I agree with all of the above! Every diet works. But I've never stuck to any. I started beginning of match and have lost 3 1/2 stone. And sooooo many inches. It does work, if you stick with it. If I can do it, anyone can. Trust me on that. Good luck, it gets better.

Stick with it Whatamidoing, I'm on day 6 and have just had a horribly upset stomach- I had been warned but am feeling a bit sorry for myself. I read your post and thought- god what I would do for a bit of chicken- but it isn't worth it- eating just makes it harder. ANd my breath absolutely honks, I keep thinking how am i going to do this for so many months but have to slap myself around the face and just take one day at a time, and if one day is too hard just get through the next 15 minutes. Find yourself a good distraction- a good book or something- or a little lay down if all else fails! If I can do it you can do it too!
