Step 1 Sole Source What's the longest you've done SS?

Hi, I'm interested to know how long people have done SS. I'm aware that the plan requires at least one week on step 2 after 12 weeks, but have any of you done that week then gone back on SS for another 12 weeks, for example?

I'm on my 8th week of SS, and with so much left to lose, I think the plan is to break for a week, then back on SS. I'd be really keen to hear your experiences please.

I'm coping ok for now, but I'm concerned that boredom or lifestyle envy may get in the way before I get where I need to be.

yeah i did 12 and then 8 i think it was the first time i did CD. You just need to keep your eye on the prize! :) the end results will make me happier than any food and that drives me to be 100%.

I managed two weeks and then another 5 weeks on SS+. I stuck to it religiously while I was on it and I tip my hat to anyone who does it longterm.

Thanks, ladies. Lizz, that's about what I'm looking at, so it's good to know it can be done!

Oh hun it can definitely be done! Eye on the prize xx

Current loss: 25lbs and 18.5inches

:) Thanks Lizz x

Ok, bumping this to say I'm 12 weeks down, 50lbs down, and moving with great trepidation on to my week of step 2... I may use this thread to keep a track as I'm a bag of nerves in case I get this wrong!

Well done hun! Youre half way to your target and thats amazing!!! :) the add a meal week is a doddle. plan plan plan and you'll find it flies by and then you can get back down to SS. Food is fuel, not happiness, just remember than and youll be fine :)

Thanks Lizz, really appreciate your post as I'm so grumpy today. After the relative ease of having no choices and very clear rules, I'm anxious about making choices. I think the main issue in fact is that despite trying so hard to plan, my first meal today was looking like being at a restaurant. I couldn't find any venue or menu that seemed right, so have cancelled that and will eat at lunch time. But as I work in central London, I'll need to find some step 2 foods on the fly. I know it's possible, I just don't feel prepared. Also, how did you pattern your eating, so that you managed to fit in all the shakes and bars plus food, without feeling like you're constantly troughing?!

Hiya, I did step 2 most of the time I've been doing Cambridge (now moving up the steps) I found that having my meal at lunch or dinner time best. There are good salads in m&s and wasabi if you get stuck on the fly. They have their dressing separate and don't have any carbs in with them but do have some protein (chicken) and veg. You'll probably still need a top up on protein during the day to reach the target set in the book. Sometimes I wouldn't bother but mostly I would have some cooked chicken breast or a boiled egg. If I had products for breakfast and lunch then my final product would be after dinner like a pud! Like a reward for stickin with it through the day. I would also suggest getting in some frozen veg and eggs. If in doubt an omelette with veg or mushrooms or soft boiled or poached eggs over spinach or asparagus were my quick go to meals! Good luck. Xxx

My ss+ day is a product about 1, then the next at 5 (after i've done my pilates), my dinner at 715 (little one in bed by then) and then the bar about 9 (whilst watching TV).
When i do up to step 3, i will have something earlier as i cant rear load products as much on Step 3. Its a gradual process for me to eat in the morning as i havent had "breakfast" for 20 years, so its a hard habit to break. hope that helps hun xx

Thanks ladies, really appreciate your help and the benefit of your experience in this.

I did my first supermarket shop tonight. Took forever! Made a delicious meal though and I'm really pleased with myself. Can hardly believe how much we're able to have! Very full. I'm trying to make a meal plan for the whole week, as I find that planning is everything for me. I got tofu, tuna, quorn, turkey breast mince and cottage cheese as my protein. Cauliflower, spinach, asparagus and fresh herbs. Yogurt instead of milk. Fingers crossed!!

Oh man I am hungry!! Did my Ketostix last night and this morning, and I'm in mild ketosis but the act of having eaten is making me feel hunger. I've had my shake and now just had a bite of my bar, too. This is what I feared. My resolve to work through it is still high, but it's hard. I was having such an easy time on SS, in terms of having no appetite either physically or emotionally. I feel at risk of derailment. The supermarket shop last night was so hard, I'm single so I've not had to navigate that until now! Sorry to grumble but it helps to get it out here.

I do the 810. And one thing that has been a life saver for me is shiratake noodles Shirataki noodles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. They are zero calorie, zero carb, zero anything and very high fibre. I mix them with my meat and veg entitlement to get very full - I normally find I don't get hungry afterwards either because of the very high fibre content. Try the Japan centre on Piccadilly Circus. :) Make sure you buy the traditional and not the tofu ones though as the latter have calories.

Thanks Neko. I managed with just some extra water. So, I've survived my step 2 week, now back to the comfort of SS. So glad to get back into my routine. I reckon about 6 more weeks on this stage.

Was out of ketosis last night before bed, hope it's not too painful slipping back in again! Wasn't hungry this morning, just had my first shake of the day and am well into my second litre of water. Six more weeks of this step, I reckon. I'm excited about the further changes ahead. Some of my more negative side effects have passed (hair loss stopped and looks ok, water retention lessened, skin seems more resilient, etc.). I'm comfortably in size 14 jeans, and 'large' tops from normal shops. I'm BMI about 31, so just a few weeks off the drop from obese to just overweight. Good times :)

Love reading your posts Chartreuse,

Im on week 4 want to go to week 12 if I can then go and do another 6 like you.

Reading your worries (I know Im not there yet but think the same as you) I love the responses you've had and Good Luck for the next 6 weeks.

Thank you! Today has been a little hard going, I'm still not back in ketosis it seems, so was a bit hungry by the afternoon and had all my products well and truly in my tum by 5pm. I've had plenty of water and spent the last hour doing a rose facial, and applying bust boost, tummy toner, anti-cellulite and circulation-boosting treatments from top to toe. Bed now with my tablet and some trashy police procedural drama (the best!). Good luck with your journey, I'm sure you'll do well. It has the odd rocky patch but on balance it gets better and better the further in you go. I just spent about ten minutes admiring my backside in the mirror. Looking pretty decent! :)

with all the products you're using your bit should look good lol....I'm quiet positive and been watching the you tube posts. real inspirational.

Cant wait to fit into my 16s properly, but shouldn't be too long. Have a lovely relax, didn't realise the time. Its well past my bedtime!

Still fighting hunger a bit this week. There's no way I'll go off plan, but I just need to have a small moan about it. I've had my choc tetra for dinner but they are so delicious, I often end up wanting more than one. Hopefully as I settle back in to SS, I'll go back to having no appetite. I want to make my next milestones - first is to get to 4 stone off. I get weighed in the evening and I'm usually 3-4lbs heavier then, so if I do it this week, it will only be on my own scales in the morning. This morning I was 12st 3. I can see me doing it by Monday, but I think the official figure will be about 12st 3 or 4. Then after that, I'm eyeing the 11s. I don't think I've been that light since the early 2000s. Can't recall exactly. I know I was about 10st for the millennium.
