Extra Easy I am rubbish

After two weeks of losing one pound I gave up. I did it to the latter... Tried so hard to change my ways. Now I feel embarrassed that I'm such a defeatist. I have now had two full days of eating exactly as I wish and I feel no better for it. I got on the scales and am now 3lbs heavier than when I started. Just urgh...so annoying. Why at 28 years old can I not commit to something and stick to it. I feel awful about myself. I hate that the scales can do this!

Now I'm not sure what to do diet wise.

Anyways sorry for the rant. Just don't think my o/he would appreciate/ understand this stuff!

Hmmmmmmm well I can understand why you're fed up at losing 1lb, but at the end of the day it's a loss, can you be sure you followed the plan 100%, did you have 1/3 superfree with meals, have syns, drink plenty of water? Do you have a diary on here.

Giving up won't get you anywhere, as to which weight loss program you follow is up to you, it needs to fit in with your lifestyle. I'd take a look at diaries on all plans & ask yourself if you could do that;)

I've had a couple of weeks of only losing 1/2 a lb and I spoke to my consultant on Monday night to see if there was something I was missing (I'm only on my 5th week). We went through my food diary from the previous week and she noticed that I could probably do with adding some more super speed foods (like berries, peas etc) into my meals as they were pretty non-existent for the past couple of weeks. Maybe that's something you could incorporate?

Also make sure you're drinking enough fluids. I think the past couple of weeks I've been retaining water and that could have had something to do with it.

Remember, it's a pound off rather than a pound on and that's a great success - it might feel like a small step but it's a step in the right direction :)

I think sometimes the more we want something the harder it becomes! Think about when you most struggle to stick to plan whether its evenings or weekends & then try to plan, you could save syns for weekends or even changing your weigh day could make a big difference it did to me anyway. How long have you been doing sw? x

I think we all have high expectations of losing 3lb every week and lots of people are disappointed when it doesn't happen. It took me ages to get my head around having small regular losses, in fact I gained a few more stones, starting diets, losing 'just' a few pounds then leaving and eating what I wanted until joining a new club, at least half a stone heavier.

I lose around half a pound a week on average, some weeks I don't lose anything, sometimes a pound, then suddenly I'll lose 3lb when I don't expect it. Lots of things like water retention from hormones, TOTM or starting to exercise can all affect your losses, maybe if you'd continued another week you'd have had a good loss. Try looking at your losses over a month instead of week to week?

Why not try giving it another few weeks and see how you go?

Good luck. x

I definitely think looking at your losses month by month can help. I've felt a bit stuck for a while now, but looking at the months as a whole shows me I AM getting somewhere faster than I think (see signature!) :)

I think it's brilliant you've lost! I would be happy to even stay the same but I'm putting on- that's why I joined the site I felt like I was doing it alone none of my friends diet and I always felt deprived... That was until I joined this site there are so many things we can eat I never knew I could!
It's never good to say put a line under it but in this instance I would stop being so hard on yourself!
Fluid is defiantly a good point I've decided to buy a litre bottle and fill it up and try to drink it all by lunch, as for my mid morning tea... It's now green tea!
Try a food diary I thought I knew what I was doing but infact I've learnt that foods I thought were free weren't like advocardo and olives even some muller lights

I think your in the right place..This site seems fab for tips and support from others in a similar situation.. Keep at it is all I can say.. Its never easy to loose weight unfortunately (if only it was) the way I work it is if I feel I have been good I will treat myself :) everything in moderation ... Good Luck to you and keep your head up.xx:eek::eek:
