Long haul

Hi everybody,

I'm new around these parts but I'm not new to weight loss. I have spent the last two years losing 8 stones and intend on losing another 7 over the course of the next two. I'll be 30 years old in 2016 so that's kind of my deadline. How's everybody doing?:)

Welcome to the forum. :) Wow, 8 stones is amazing!! I'm sure you'll manage the next 7 with no problem x

Hi, well done on the 8 stone and good luck with the next 7 :). Just wondered, is it getting easier as you go on? As you are calorie counting, is your portion control and food choice becoming automatic?

Hi,

Thank you for your kind words. I wouldn't say it has gotten easier to stick to the diet. It's never been that difficult to stick to though because I pretty much eat what I want; I just make sure I don't eat so much of it that I have too many calories. What is difficult is everything else because my energy levels diminish and it becomes difficult to concentrate on things etc. I've pretty much decided to realise that my life is on hold until I become a healthy weight. Until then I'll do my job so that I can get paid and enjoy what I can while waiting for my life to begin at 30.

I do have diet breaks BTW. Usually my birthdays and the period between Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. What's interesting is that I am now much more aware of caloric content in food even when I'm not tracking it on a spreadsheet. I can't really say that my portion sizes etc have become automatic because I track my calories very carefully every day and often plan a week's worth of eating at once.

Congratulations to you BTW; your BMI drops ones more point and you are no longer obese!

Oh, that's nice to know about my BMI, thanks.

You are doing really well with your diet, but is seems a shame you have no energy. I was really disappointed when I gave up smoking and did not get any energy back. I have done Slimming world, Weight Watchers and calorie counting in the past, lost weight on all, felt great and then managed to pile it back on and then some (usually during and after pregnancy). I started the Harcombe diet 3 weeks ago and I feel amazing. I have more energy than I have had in years and feel able to cope with my life much better. I also found that I am no longer stuffing my face for no good reason and not snacking. Looks like I've found the diet for me :).

Really hope you feel better soon and can live now, you have come so far already. Enjoy being you, who you are and be proud of what you have done and what you will be achieving xx
