Hey hope everyone's had a good day, on second day and it's going well so far. Has anyone tried the soups and can recommend am having 2 chocolate shakes and cinnamon porridge this week

Hi blond123,

i like the oriental chilli soup the best and the leek and potato is ok too (nicer with added pepper). Can't stand the smell of the vegetable or the tomato!

Well done on starting and getting through the first couple of days.

I only like the oriental chilli. But much prefer the shakes tbh

I found that adding dried chilli flakes (my consultant assured me this was fine!) makes the tomato one way better! ;-)

I like the chicken and mushroom with added dried herbs. And oriental chilli is a nice one too!

I'm trying the mango shake today! V excited lol (I used to get excited about nandos or the harvester....now I get excited about a 150 cap shake ?)

Let me know how you get on with mango, I want to try it next time I pick up my sachets!

The mango tastes like a lassi to me, you know those yogurt fruit drinks. I don't like lassi so I don't like them but my friend orders them every week as he loves them! Horses for courses.

My daughter wants to try the mango too not that ok letting her!

It's worth a go.

I'm also trying the maple and pecan porridge today...is it any good?

Thanks for the taste analysis of the mango one! I think I may avoid.....!!

Not tried any porridge yet as I'm only in week one. They sound yummy though!

You're allowed porridge on week 1 hun

Oh I didn't realise! I though it was soups and shake only for first two weeks. Never mind I've got shakes and soups now, but look forward to porridge on week 3!

You can have the bars on week 3 as well

I like the porridge but the keys is to make it right. Otherwise it ends up as a sort of thin gruel but too thick and you turn your back and you can slice it! I like a bit of cinnamon on the original porridge and the maple and pecan one is nice too. I'm not a fan of the apple and cinnamon, but that's because of my hatred of hot fruit on savoury type food but again my friend loves it.

Wow I didn't know the porridges had those flavours! I thought it was just normal porridge (which I like anyway so was happy!)

So cinnamon is ok to add to it also then?

I have cinnamon in the porridge, sometimes add some to a warm choc shake (like a Christmassy got choc). All spices and dried herbs are good for adding to make things more interesting. I've added nutmeg, chilli, pepper to things too.

Yeah three different porridges, chose your favourite.

I'm all over the chilli flakes adding it to soups but didn't know that about the sweeter spices, thank you!! :)

Hi Tiggemma thank you, not on to 2nd week of ss I got some chicken and mushroom, will try potato and leek next week, hope all is going well x
