Extra Easy Has any one else done this...?

Hi all
I'm prob gonna get a bit shot down for this and looking for advice but I was just thinking...
I find my SW group so long and have thought of going alone and doing from home due to the unflexibility of holiday weeks/sickness and the money involved in this.
I'm not sure if I will stay on track doing it alone and worry I will 'relapse'. But another thought came to me.
My mate does WW group, it's at a reasonable time I can make and well I thought that I could join simply just for the weigh in but still follow SW plan. And as it's pay as you go it is more flexible money wise for me also. I don't like the WW Plan and won't stay for group. I hardly see my mate due to uni/life commitments from both our ends and thought it would also be a good support for eachother. She doesn't stay at WW group either.
Has anyone done this?
All advice will be helpful.
Thanks

Honestly? I can't really see the point, I'd just buy a decent pair of scales and weigh in each week on those at home. Maybe invite your friend round to weigh in each week? I never really understand people paying to weigh in and go home without attending the group- if you put on no one will know anyway so you may aswell have stayed at home and weighed there.

wouldn't it be simpler & cheaper to meet with your friend & both get weighed at boots or something?that way you can still have the support from eachother without paying fees etc..

I've heard of people doing that and it working from them. If you feel like it will be more better then why not give it a try.

Sometimes it's long, plenty of people leave when they need to get to work or have appointments to get to. Slightly confused by the "money involved in this." SW is also pay as you go like WW.

Hi all thanks for the comments, it's helpful in helping me make the decision on what to do next.

With regards to the money, my consultant said that with my sickness I will have to use my holiday (I have three weeks left) and if I'm im off for longer then I will have to rejoin again. For me it's really restrictive as further on in the year I had holiday planed.

As far as I am aware, and please correct me if I'm wrong, with WW you pay a joining fee £10 I think and then as long as you check in every now and again your membership is not cancelled. Again I could be wrong lol.
Thanks guys x

No, you have to pay every week (more than SW - over £5 I think) and if you miss a week you need to have booked a holiday or sick day or you'll have to pay, just like at SW. Unless you've been a gold member (having previously reached goal with WW) then I don't think you need to pay for missed weeks.

Thank you for clarifying for me hun!
Ok so WW weigh in is scraped then!!

I have left class and done it alone, but you have to be quite disciplined to carry this out. I am still not at the target I want to be at and to be honest I am not in any rush. I would say 95% of the time I am dedicated and on plan. I may have the odd night, or maybe even the odd week where things go awry. You have to be strong willed enough not to cave and give in to temptation, despite having 'bad' weeks where you don't lose despite believing you have been 100% on plan. This is where you miss the support of a group and you have to pick yourself up and dust yourself off and some positive mental attitude is going to get you through this. With regards to the weighing, Starlight is right, some people need to feel accountable to someone in order to keep going and without that, they are tempted to 'cheat', hence the reason they still attend but only get weighed. Truthfully, I'm just too bloody tight to cough up to get weighed and leave so I invested in some good quality scales that measure to a quarter pound and I weigh myself once a week. However, I would also feel happy meeting a mate and going to boots for a 'weigh in'. If you feel you can go it alone when the going gets tough then I cannot see the point of paying to any group be it SW or WW. If you need the support then stay with the group you need, i.e. SW, then at least you have access to the books, online etc. It really is a case of trial and error and only you can make the right decision for you. Hope that helps :D

I do online SW. Group just didn't work for me. I work shifts, so missed about 2/3 of them. And the support wasn't great, a bit clicky. Online works well for me, as I like having the access to syns and recipes. I weirdly feel accountable to the computer demanding I weigh in lol. And I like the supportive emails. My partner and I are doing it together, so we support each other. It's worked well so far
