Struggling with syns

I joined a few weeks ago but not been back and I've been eating over the syns and finding it hard because I'm always craving sweet stuff. I think especially because I'm up til late doing essays so crave sugar :(

How does everyone deal with this craving?

Retrain yourself - there are plenty of things to satisfy the sweet tooth that do not need syns or have low syns
-muller light yoghurts
-fruit - a bowl of sweet green grapes is like having a bowl of sweeties, or use few syns to melt a little chocolate and make some chocolate dipped strawberries which not only taste good, but always look amazing and make you feel like you have done something special for yourself which is way better than simply tearing the wrapper off a chocolate bar
-choc-shots (I don't use choc shots but I know many people on this site use them a lot and love them - they are mixed with all sorts of things and I know the suggestions and tips will be flooding in soon, or just search for 'choc shots' on this site)
-I like to use my HEB on prunes on some days - for me prunes are like toffees, they are incredibly sweet and sticky and gooey (80g for a HEB)
-I find a few fruit gums satisfy a sweet tooth very quickly for very low syns - not wine gums, but fruit gum because they are harder and take longer to chew.

What kind of sweet things do you like to eat, have you had a look around here to see what other people snack on?

If you know you're going to want a sweet snack later incorporate it into your daily syns, there are lots of low syn treats around;)

You crave sugar because its addictive! The more you have, the more you want.

Personally I find not having anything sugary helps me just because having one thing sets me off!! My husbands manager sent some chocolate home for me last week and I told my husband to hide it because I know I won't be able to have just one bit!
I realise this won't work for everyone and that SW 'allows' you to do as you want with your syns but its clearly causing you problems, so it maybe worth considering?

I agree - sugar is massively addictive! Go cold turkey for a few days and the cravings will go - but its a hard few days

I found fruit really curbed my sweet tooth, I might just eat two or three pieces and day but it definitely made me stop craving chocolate. What's lovely and long lasting is frozen grapes, pop some in a dish and take them out when you're doing your essays, because they're cold, I tend to nibble on them, it's like eating sorbet, yummy xx

Another good idea for a picky snack - this was brought in to our taster session last week. Tub of Quark (free), mix in a white choclate option sachet (think 2.5?) then slice up a crispy red apple and dip it in - was lovely

That sounds yummy! I will have to try that.
