I'm going here on Saturday... http://media.freeola.com/other/21646/hopbinemenujuly13.pdf
I think either Mushroom & Tomato Linguine (and count syns for parmesan and sun-dried tomatoes) or Nicoise Salad with added tuna as long as it's not in oil (and count syns for salad dressing and olives & pick out the sun-dried tomatoes)

This is the menu for Sunday. Shame its not Saturday as they do good omelette or jacket potatoes with salad then, but a restricted sunday menu. I think the roast dinner is the only viable option here for Sunday lunchtime.... Sunday Menu - Menu - The Fox, Aspenden.

Advice or ideas gratefully received!!

On Saturday the Gammon can be served with baby potatoes or jacket, just get it without the fried eggs and it's syn free.

On Sunday you also have the option of the chilli, which ahs it's served with rice or a jacket shouldn't be too many Syns.

Thanks rm247.

I was just a bit worried that the gammon might be fried in oil if they're frying the eggs. Missed the chilli though - I like chilli as well :)

Both places everyday lunchtime menus are fine, so I was a bit put out to see the evening / sunday lunch ones are different / not so SW friendly. I'm not drinking alcohol though so can use my Syns for the day on my meals, so hopefully as long as I stick with the 'better' options I should be safe.

Oooo just spotted another alternative for today's menu..

Parma ham salad £4.95 : Parma ham with baby gem lettuce, broad beans, pea shoots & a balsamic reduction

So, I know that Parma Ham is 0.5 syns per slice. Lettuce, beans and pea shoots syn free. I've looked at lots of recipes for making a Balsamic reduction and it seems to be just balsamic vinegar and herbs and garlic. Certainly no oil seen in any of them. HOWEVER, if they use a standard Balsamic Dressing (which as they're a chips-with-everything pub, they probably will) then that's 3 syns per tablespoon, so think I'll syn it as that to be on the safe side, especially as I'm eating out again tomorrow!
