Maintaining

You are right, maintaining is for life. Ive been around goal for 1 and a half years now, sometimes a bit over. Ive never put on more than a stone and have always taken steps to bring it back x

Hey Can I really do this, you should change your name to

YES I JOLLY WELL CAN AND HAVE

It's lovely to see the people that have maintained, you and the other guys are truly worth applauding xx

Just over 2 years for me now at goal weight, I fluctuate about 4 pounds depending on my TOTM but usually just under 14 stone.

I was joking but also serious, I tend to weigh around 3 pounds heavier at the start of the week than the end, partly because I drink less water at the weekends.

Thank you so much, I do have to say losing 5 stones changed my life, and what ever you do, go for it x

Can't remember how long I've maintained for. Will need to look at my sig, which I can't see until I press submit reply :D

Hang on :D

OMG It's gone I don't know then

Think it's 2 years 7 months since I finished the plans. Again....fluctuate about 2-4lbs either way.

Right! Who's nicked my maintaining ticker:cry:

Hi, I started in June 2006 and for some reason I always count from there as the last time I was 197. I have figured out how to eat more or less to maintain. If I put on then I do something straightaway as it's usually after hols or family visits. I once put on a load and went on CD for a few weeks and that worked - I keep away from red wine which for some reason piles on the weight.

I was scary when I thought about maintaining - especially as people kept saying you'll put it on as fast as you lost it. This is not true, there's studies showing that this doesn't happen.

I was helped knowing that if I got maintaining wrong I had CD in my toolkit.

For the maintainers- what's an average day's food for you?

There is no average for me, thats a hard question, I could tell you what Ive eaten today but Im ill with a viral infection so its not been the best!!

Fruit n fibre semi skimmed milk

Tin of soup and a ham sandwich

Chicken stir fry n garlic bread

Frusili

Banana

I may have an options hot choc in a while.

I try to vary, always have breakfast (unless Im in a mad rush) coz i love tesco fruit and fibre (hated it before cd!!)

Try to eat fruit more!

Dunno, its a hard one, I dont count calories anymore, I just try to make wise choices and eat when Im hungry, I a@rse it up at times but then dont we all!!

Man, that's dream food to me!

I think if I stay low GI and relatively low carb after I finish SS, I should be able to maintain my weight. It sounds as if I'm passing the buck, but I honestly did gain my weight through medications.

Damn, I wanted to edit that post!

Anyway, people maintaining are my heroes!

Bless ya!!!!!!!! Its ok mostly, not when Im feeling rotten like today and want to dive in the bread bin and fly to the toaster!!!

AH well, live n learn!

Heres to another good day x
