Week 2 weigh in and I have STS! First week I only lost 5lb. I have stuck to it, felt like c**p, ran 3 times this week. I have a minimum of 3 stone to lose, so am I unrealistic expecting bigger losses? I did this type of diet 8 years ago (pre children) and lost 1.5 stone in 6 weeks, at that time I had 2 stone to lose. :( :( :( feel very low today!

Oh dear :(

This diet is tough enough, without that kind of disappointment

......but sadly, weight loss doesn't happen in a nice straightforward way

Perhaps you're building muscle from the running, perhaps it's hormonal, could be anything really

I gave up weekly weighing for this very reason - just soul destroying when you have worked hard

I now weigh monthly in order for me to see the bigger picture :)

.....and there are a few of us doing this too

It has done wonders for my motivation :D

Stick at it, and it will work

Use the wonderful support here, start a diary - great to keep you focused and accountable :)

Take care x

Yep, weightloss is weird; it doesn't go in a nice straightforward line graph - it's all ups and downs. TOTM and other things can affect weightloss (IPreviously found that working nightshift made it a bit hit or miss).

I was advised once by a fitness instructor that a fortnightly weightloss was more accurate; and certainly better for morale.

Next week you will be singing and dancing with joy!

Going to weigh in at the end of week 1, and then then either fortnightly or monthly.

Keep Up the good work, please don't get too despondent.

I have heard that doing too much exercise while on a VLCD will have the effect of slowing down your weight loss. You're taking in so few calories that when you start asking your body to burn even more of them, it just shuts down your metabolism so that you end up burning less. That might not be what's happening here but with you mentioning running every day, I thought I'd mention it :)

Some people don't always lose lots at the beginning but lose more later, everybody is wired up differently - stick with it as the only way is down, you may find you get a great loss next week x
