Coming up to my second weigh in on Monday but I feel like im having a bad week. I feel more boated than I ever have is this normal for my sevond full week? Also I had a bad day yesterday, up umtil I fimished work I was having a great day, I hadnt used my syns at all. Then my boyfriend met me after work with a starbucks, we then went for a burrito, I tried my best to choose healthy but I'm terrified it will waste all my efforts this week. Any tips on how I can redeem m6self after a bad day?

I think feeling a bit odd (bloated/constipated/gassy etc!) is quite normal in the first few weeks as you adapt, esp to all the veggies. I found that having lots of fibre (eg hexB scanbrans, beans) and lots of water helped. Personally I find the odd bit of caffeine helps too! Some people say green tea or mint tea reduces bloating.

It doesn't sound like your bad day was THAT bad - you had a treat (Starbucks) and a meal out. Have you worked out the syns? That can help you to feel better and draw a line under it, as well as being a good habit to get into. If you continue to stick to plan on the other days, I don't see why you shouldn't see a loss this week unless there's just a little blip which can happen any time, even when people have been really 'good'.

Does your bf know you're on SW? Might be helpful if you can let him know what the best options at Starbucks are for you (I think some of the frappuccinos are ok if you have the light version and use your HexA). It's hard when you lose control because someone else wants to treat you!

:welcome: SarahLou :)

I'm in my 2nd week and I really understand what you mean about the bloating (could you also be time of the month?).

Sorry to hear you had a challenging day yesterday, but, take comfort from the fact we all have them.
The trick is to learn from them (just what was bad about it; why it was bad; how could you change it; who could you turn to for support; could it be predicted and therefore avoided?) and Gwella has given you a great tip re: boyfriend and Starbucks :)

Redeem yourself? :hmm: Let me think ...

  • Could you eat between now and Monday without using any Syns?

  • Could you challenge boyfriend to a game of badminton over the weekend to burn off some energy? (Or, take him out for a brisk walk or two? Or, some other *activity* which you both enjoy and will burn a calorie or three? Swimming? Jogging? [STRIKE]Rumpy Pumpy[/STRIKE]? Pillow fighting? :pillowfight: )

The biggest, single thing you could do before Monday is: Don't beat yourself up over what you did yesterday! Forgive yourself and move forward positively, and actively, the SW way :) The very, very, very *worst* thing that may possibly happen on Monday at weigh in is: you have put on 1lb - so what? It happens to many people every week. You have done the hard bit insomuch as you will understand why it happened (IF it has ;) ) and that will have given you the gift of hindsight and what the consequences might be of a burrito and starbucks ;)

I think you may surprise yourself and show either you have stayed the same or you will have had a loss.

But, Loss, Same or Gain: it isn't the stops you make along the way which define you, but getting to your final destination just might! ;)

:bighug:

draw a line under it!

Re-read you books and fill up on all the lovely super free and free foods. If you put on a gain, you know why.

x

Ok just back from weigh in only lost half a pound, feeling down in myself but sure I know what happened I need to use this feeling as a lesson and never feel like this again! Thank you for your support pals x

Hi, just wanted to say hello and well done on losing that half pound. A loss is better than a gain or STS, so don't feel bad.
With regards to the bloating, yes you do have enough flatulence to power a wind turbine and subside the national grid but this is perfectly normal at the beginning of the plan and does resolve itself. In the meantime, you could try some mint, ginger or fennel tea, which is quite soothing. Good luck with everything. :D

Totally agree a loss is better than a gain or STS.

You should be proud of yourself :)

:bighug: That is GREAT!!!!

Certainly not worth feeling down about ;) (Although, I *can* understand why you might feel that way).

Please remember: this is not a crash diet. Weight loss should be slow and steady; that is the way to lose it and not pile it back on when you've reached target.

Well done, SarahLou - I know you are feeling down about it, but I am feeling delighted for you :)
