Thinking of switching from s/world

Just wondered if anyone can explain what types of foods and amounts u can eat? I've always done slimming world but have noticed all I eat is pasta and I feel bulky and bloated! So I'm thinking of changing diet plans! How different is this plan thank you :))

Hi Williams can i ask why you only eat pasta? you can eat virtually anything, and all the time whilst doing Slimming World, have you been told thats all you can eat? I really hope not!

weight watchers is great because you literally can eat anything you want but each food has "points" you are given a points allowance per day and a weekly amount you can go into if you run out in the day too. obviously some things have more points and somethings even have 0 points so you can stock up on them
i never feel hungry

Hi :)
I have done SW and also found that while you had lots of choice of "free foods" that tbh I was sick of pasta, muller lights and meat!! And their ''syn free'' food often lacks flavour e.g. mug shots! HOWEVER... WW has a similar progamme called Simply Filling but unless you have an understanding of "feeling full" then it's not very good (I'm on that one at the moment giving it a go!)

I lost 24lbs in 7 months with Pro Points. Every food is assigned a certain amount of points (this is based on the nutritional info and is very roughly 40kcal = 1pp).
Depending how much you weigh now will depend on how many daily points you're allowed (lowest is 26pp). You also have 49 extra weekly points that you can use all at once, or a few each day or not use them at all - again it's to make you feel less deprived!

I must say - i lost more weight on WW than on SW because I really enjoyed it! Having the WW app made life so much easier as I always had the chance to point foods on the go, whereas SW meant I had to KNOW the syns in food that wasn't free.

If you're feeling like giving it a go, then go online to the WW website, I think they might have recipe examples so you can see what foods you'd be able to have, or look through the food diaries on this site :) any questions don't hesitate to ask! x

u can basically eat whatever u want as long as u point it! most people dont even feel like they are on a diet with ww :)
most fruit n veg are 0pps except peas sweetcorn etc.. but filling up on 0pp foods always helps!
u can get recipes for 0pp soup online..

Thanks for replies! My reason for eating pasta all the time is because I followed ee and my a & b choice was always for breakfast so I was always stuck for lunch ideas and as I'm p/time I only get 10 mins I didn't no what else to eat so pasta salads everyday!!!
I joined ww tonight and I'm chuffed I can now have bread twice lol it's gonna take me a few days to get my head round ww so fingers crossed !!

Good luck with your ww journey I think it is more flexible :)

I've just switched from slimming world too! I found it really daunting at first being able to eat whatever I wanted rather than having to stick to original or green but I really love weight watchers so far :)

Saw this thread and was wonderig how your ww is going. I moved from sw to ww on monday and as your a little infrony of me thought id see how your finding it if you dont mibde asking :) x

Hi people??
I'm thinking of switching to I was wondering what's the simple start is like & how long can you follow it for?
With sw I follow the green plan because I'm a vegetarian & I find myself with no willpower for some reason but I do exercise 4 to 5 times a week so my thinking is with the pedometer I could earn more points :)

I struggled doing SW as I'm a vegetarian too. I have now been doing WW for a month and I absolutely love it. Would definitely recommend switching over

Thankyou for your reply :) can I ask what you eat being a veggie is it the same as slimming world?

Yeah i have felt the same with slimming world. Kept eating rice and pasta. I found that i lost about 5Ibs but struggled to lose anymore being on slimming world. I have now switched to weight watchers. I tried WW back in 2011 and lost over a stone in about 6-7 weeks and found that it was much more easier to follow. Kinda got sick of slimming world.

Maybe try switching to different foods within slimming world? or you may find weight watchers more helpful.

Thankyou ?i think I've made up my mind now I just have to decide if I do it from home or club :)

I have found simple start easier then slimming world, as the list of free foods is just more practicle, but am on propoints now and that's a dodle! Just chuck what you've eaten in the app and it's easy, it's easier if you need to eat on the run! But saying that it is slower then slimming world (if you can stick to slimming world that is, and I can't for longer then a very motivated week!)

also so I found slimming world meetings awqard (can't spell ) not only was it some women I didn't know, knowing my weight!? Image therapy was boring tedious and embarrassing! Where at Ww meetings only the leader knows my weight, and then group afterwards is more like a little motivating discussion lead by the leader, for instance last week was about what motivates us, she told us what her motivation was, went round the room a little and got us to say what our motivation was and spared me a lot of embarrassment!
