Day 1

Hi all,

Today I start Exante... I'm no stranger to VLCDs as I have attempted more starts and restarts of CD than I care to remember. I've found myself defecting to Exante largely for convenience and cost due to my hectic and skint lifestyle as a student nurse. Somewhat insanely on my part, I am about to begin a run of three night shifts, so I'm hoping that the lack of patient food on the ward overnight, coupled with being able to fib that I just don't eat on nightshifts will allow me to get into ketosis with minimal torture.

Ultimately I have fannied about in the past due to having nothing concrete to spur me on. With my Graduation looming in November I absolutely refuse to be overweight in pictures which will haunt me for the rest of my life, proudly adorning my relatives homes with my big fat mush!

I know that I have willpower; I stopped smoking Xmas eve 2012 cold turkey and have not looked back, I think I now need to have faith in myself that I can leave my food demons behind and retrain my brain and body to be healthy.

i look forward to getting to know you all, and hope that we can be mutually supportive along this journey!

Xxxx

Hi and welcome to the group, good luck with your diet, please keep us posted as to how you're getting on.

Hi I'm Michelle, I am new to this, stuff arrived yesterday and going to start tomorrow... Eeekkkk!!! Really excited, but also worrying that I will fail again, as I did a few years ago doing the Cambridge diet. I am a comfort eater and will find it difficult to break the habit, not necessarily the food itself. Would really appreciate any tips to help me to success :) thankyou x

Mich my main tip would be to do something (anything) to distract you if you think you're going to eat, even if it's read a book or magazine or go for a walk around the block - good luck!

Thankyou Katie.
I think my biggest struggle will be tea without milk, i am a major tea drinker, just cannot stomach drinking it black. I've had a real blow out weekend! Eaten and drunk what I like lol!!!! Tomorrow it all begins :)

Peppermint tea or black coffee?

Black coffee I can manage, not sure about the tea though. From your experience, how quickly can most people who stick to the diet religiously lose 2 stone. Is it likely to be less than 3 months?

I'd say that if you stick to it you can lose 2 stone in less than two months but that may depend on how much people have to lose.

I have two and half to lose. Have felt self conscious almost all my life, and I'm sick if it to be honest lol!!!! If I had a good, fast loss, it would spur me on and give me extra motivation to prove people wrong and that I can do it :)

Good morning :) please can someone suggest another way of making the porridge? I made it following the instructions, but it is so runny, it's awful :(

I've never had the porridge so can't help with this one - might be worth creating a new post called porridge help or something.

Hi all - I start day 1 when it arrives hopefully on Tuesday/Wednesday. I must say I find this website very helpful. I especially like that there can be no mention of food, although I see some have managed to squeeze it in every so often. I'm quietly positive about starting and seeing the results as the weeks go by. I'll let you know when my packs have arrived and the true start day.
