Just starting calorie counting....help& advice please!

Hi all!! Been a sw devotee for 3 years and still going to group but have plateau'd massively so having a go at this!! Will this work for me do you think? Feel like I'm eating too much free food and my body is used to it on sw. Any thoughts opinions and advice would be gratefully received !! Xx ps. I've just my last stone to go !
 
I'd say this is a really good idea for your last stone as you'll probably be having less calories than on sw and that's what weight loss is all about!!

You sound like you are in the same boat as me (although I've only been on SW for 9 months). I give it my all and yet, probably because I have such a large appetite I really struggle to lose (never have big gains tho) so I too have plateaued since November. I feel like this could be the kickstart I need so intend on trying this for this week at least (and possibly next too), although I won't be telling anyone at SW group tonight! Good luck and keep me posted how you get on. I have worked out on mfp that I should be having around 1230 cals a day to lose 1lb per week.

haha. No I shan't be mentioning it at group either! I'd get shot! I just feel its worth a shot? So disheartening losing and gaining that same pound every week for months when sticking to plan.
I've worked out it's 1200 for me per day to lose 2lbs a week and both weeks I've done it I've lost 2lbs. Onwards and upwards hey?! Let me know how you get on xxx

Thanks for the reply. Sw is great I'd never knock it. But I've done it so long my body needs a jolt. My portion sizes are clearly out of control. Just cause something is called a free food shouldn't really mean its unlimited amounts!! Especially when it's my last chunk of weight. You've done so well looking at your stats! How have you done it? X

That's a great weight loss - I'd be so happy with that - have forgotten what it feels like to be rewarded for the hard effort with a weight loss. I started CC yesterday and am not going to weigh myself until group on Monday but I'll let you know how I get on. Based on my level of activity I calculated somewhere ranging between 1200 and 1350 do I've settled on 1230 per day as it's my son's birthday this Saturday so I'll prob have a few more cals that day. Really hope it works and if it is I'll definitely try a few more weeks of this as I am not too far from target and I have proved that I can maintain on SW - although don't think I'll need to add any extra Healthy extras to maintain.

Calorie counting and exercise 3-5 times a week. I started on 1500 cals when I was at my heaviest till Xmas and now I've only got a stone and a half to shift I've reduced it to 1200-1300 (although not today as we've had bday celebrations!)
