Hi all,
I started s&s 9 days ago and have done so well losing 12lb in my first week! However I have a birthday dinner to go to at a Chinese restaurant this week. I am coming off plan for the day and plan to get straight back on the day after! Does anybody have any advice to make it as painless as possible
 
Is it a sit down meal or a buffet?
 
Hmm... Chinese food is my favourite, but very fatty and carby.
if you can avoid alcohol then you'll at least save on those calories.

Its really hard to think of what is best, sorry.

if you're trying to stay in ketosis, then I'd probably go with aromatic duck and don't touch the sauce or pancakes, dry spare ribs, chicken satay skewers. Basically avoid anything with sauce as itwill be laced with sugar, and boycot the rice and noodles!

or, if it's low calorie you're after, anything stir fried and not covered in gloopy/sticky sauce will be fine. Vegetarian,prawns or chicken are your best bet. And clear soup like own ton or something.

sorry, that I can't be more helpful. Just remember, it's only one day and you're going right back o the wagon, so don't worry about it :)
 
I second the soup recommendation....hot and sour is my favourite!

I'm sure I am stating the obvious but it's a meal off not a day off :p I only say that because for me a meal would turn into a day that will then turn into a weekend because most of the time diets start on a Monday (again). I think breaking that cycle and mentality I had has really helped me.

Not saying you are the same as me in any way....just sharing my experience :p

Damn it, I should have said a meal, not a day! lol! I was obviously thinking about the fact that I would take the day off too - probably go as far as to start back on the Monday aswell! LOL!
