Should i - shouldn't i?

I'm trying to decide which diet will be better for me as i attempted a restart on a vlcd 5 days ago and havnt managed to complete a full day yet!

WW was also an option but i get so consumed with points that all i think of is food. Overkill basically.

Wondering if SF would be best as its a watered down version of the 2 combined. All i'd have to think about is snacks and my 600cal meal.

Any and all opinions appreciated.

Hello!

I tried Exante VLCD once but never got through a single day - mainly as I thought they tasted rank!

I've been on SlimFast for two weeks now and have lost 17lbs so I'm really happy with that! I presume the weightloss will slow down but it's certainly been a boost to lose that amount in such a short time (starting weight just under 18 stone).

I've found it really easy, which is a BIG thing for me as it's been a long time since I've lost any weight at all, or had any motivation to stick to something like this. I blend a banana (one of my snacks) in with a choc shake once a day for something a little more substantial, and the other shake I just have as per the instructions. I don't calorie count my meal, I just have a 'normal' portion of something healthy, and if I fancy a nibble in the evening I eat things like carrot sticks or an apple.

Give it a go! I'm like you in that WW or SW make me totally think about food the whole time. SlimFast has taken that all away - I'm no longer obsessing, and I feel like I'm on the way to waving goodbye to my Cadbury addiction!

Good luck!

Slim Fast products are full of carbs. This is fine if dieters can tolerate carbs and the products suit them. Any diet can work if it suits the person. VLCDs are low in carbs so they can't be compared to SF. I like the SF shakes. They seem to fill me up pretty well. But I can't follow the SF plan with added SF snack bars etc because my weight loss is very slow and I am always hungry. I am sensitive to carbs and need to limit them or suffer mad hunger pangs.

I've had good results by replacing two meals a day with SF shakes, usually breakfast and lunch, and having a healthy, carb-controlled meal and maybe 1-2 pieces of fruit between dinner and bedtime. I don't lose fast on more than 1400 cals per day unless I exercise for at least 30 minutes a day.

I am a vegan and so my opinion is going to be a little different because of my dietary restrictions but this is my diet (I'm trying to lose 15-30 pounds):
I basically curb my hunger with herbal teas (chamomile or peppermint mostly), I'm trying to avoid eating out
1 cup of coffee when I wake up
I have as many meals as I want, they consist of:
a)16 oz carrots w/57g fake ground meat (I suppose real ground meat would work the same) seasoned with a 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce and 2 TBS light italian dressing
b) 12 oz peas seasoned with a 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce and 2 TBS light italian dressing
c) smoothie made with 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/4 blackberries, 5 strawberries, 1/2 cup soy milk, 1/2 cup orange juice, and 1 scoop soy protein powder
d) beet soup: made in bulk for multiple meals. 5 beets, 4 cups vegetable broth, 1 red potato, 1 can black beans, pepper for taste. Boiled for 30-60 minutes and pureed.
e) cheats: microwave vegan burritos, crystal light, diet coke, 3 maple and brown sugar oatmeal packets for lunch at work (none have that many calories, but are unhealthy none the less)
I try to do yoga at least 1hr a day, and rock climbing for 1.5-2hrs once a week
(this works for me, I hope it helps you)
*As a vegan I take vitamin b12 supplements

I have been doing SF for just over 3 wks now and lost 7lb ( have another stone to go) . It works for me as I am a busy working mum of two active children and just don't have the time to think about preparing and planning meals, can just about manage my evening meal! I have lost weight before with slimming world which I think is fab but with my lifestyle at the moment counting Syns etc is just not going to work for me. Good luck! :)
