Hi,

I am going to be starting the CD next week, my counsellor is on holiday so she is coming round next week when she's back, however I don't know when to start it, I am thinking maybe its better at the weekend when I'm home rather than at uni (i'm studying for degree in social work) as I am worried about bad hunger pains, migranes and feeling dizzy etc... and this is not good at the best of times let alone at lectures etc...!

I would be interested to see what everyones opinions are about this.

Thanks x

I started LL on Wednesday - so today is my day 3. I also started a new university that day and had my first lecture for my new masters degree. To be honest, I've been pleased to have something to take my mind of the food (or lack of it) issue. I'm dreading the weekend a bit and have planned lots of things to keep me busy so I don't get maudlin over it! I find it very boring not having meals to plan, shop for, eat etc... I love cooking - so I have a lot of extra time to fill!

Don't know if this helps with your situation at all?

I recommend picking a time when you are at your busiest so that you have distractions. :)

If you begin and start cutting down on your carbs and slowly increasing your water from now until then you will slide into ketosis and avoid the withdrawal from carbs that causes most of the side effects.

this is my 2nd day and at drop -in lost...... 3 lbs but i have a bad cold....a man would call it flu.......and my back aches .....so bring on the weekend ......bought some wool to start knitting !! keep me busy
i had a study day yesterday and my rumbling tummy was bad......theres never a good time is there we can all make excuses .......go on and do it now !!

mini i do like your ticker it won't let me do min=e for some reasons ...did you have problems susan.

I too started on Wednesday. I am in ketosis now and feel great but I did feel ill for the first 2 days. I am on maternity leave so it was hard when the baby was asleep as I no longer had her for a distraction. I went to sleep instead to take my mind off feeling hungry!

Weekends are hard. We usually eat out on a Friday lunchtime but today I sat in the pub with my water and I was not remotely intrested in eating. Even with a big chicken tikka sitting next to me!

Good Luck in whatever you decide to do.

I personally find days 3 -5 hard. Then i'm ok again. I dont think there is a 'right' time to start!
Just get into it and keep busy!! Good luck to you. xxx

Hi,

I stareted Uni this week (freshers week) and also started SS. I just thought that ifI just noticed them more when I was running around like an idiot then I wouldn't notice the hunger pains as much, I just noticed them more when I got home LOL

I did have headaches, felt tired in the evenings, but had not problems with faintness. I'm now on day 5 (still with headaches and hunger pains.

If you start at the weekend, if yo don't keep yourself busy you'll just sit aroubnd thinking of food.

So my advice would be to start during the week when you are naturally busy KWIM

BTW I doing a degree in History and Archaeology

Hiya - and welcome aboard ;)

I started on a Saturday (am I mad ?? ) only cos it was the weekend (obviously) and I was also off work on the Monday...so I could have the first 3 tough days at home...:)

Mind you, it was OH birthday on the Sunday (my day2) and I ended up making pancakes with maple syrup for everyone :(

glutton for punishment, me !!

anyway, enough about me...good luck to YOU for your CD journey - prepare to be amazed as the pounds just slip away !

lotsa love

I started on a Saturday too. I wanted to start on a school day, but was concerned that I wouldn't make the toilet in time:eek:

I also wanted to be sure that I was settled into the routine of it before going back to class. How many toilet breaks, and how quick the water passed through.

Was I a bit obsessed with wee:D

I do agree that chosing the busiest day is usually the best plan though.
