Willpower and Restraint!

Hello all! I just had an awesome willpower moment and thought it might be nice if we had a place to share such things here. I feel that if I post about it, I'm less likely to give in next time as it makes me more accountable. If feel kinda guilty if I posted something and then went and did the opposite :)

Mine was that I just found a pack of 2 Reece's peanut butter cups in a bag from Christmas. I opened it, gave 1 to my OH and kept 1 for myself. Then I took the tiniest bite from it (less than half a syns worth) and gave the rest to my OH. I can easily eat 3 or 4 of them in 1 sitting so I was so pleased with myself for showing such restraint haha!

Feel free to share your willpower and restraint moments here :)

Thanks! I knew there was a more appropriate place to post this but for the life of me I couldn't think of where it was! Sorry for posting this in the wrong place :s

Wow! Fantastic restraint. I'm not surprised you want to share it. It feels so good, doesn't it? You have satisfied that sweet tooth without too many syns, and you probably enjoyed and savoured that bite more that if you had your usual 3 or 4. When you have 4 you don't enjoy each one as much as you do that single bite.

Great idea for a thread. My great willpower feel-good moment was eating only HALF a 25g bag of Walkers baked crisps and saving the rest of the bag for another day. It seems so silly because the 25g bags are so small with only a handful of crisps inside so it seems stupid to leave so few but still ..... 2.5 syns is better than a whole 5 syns.

So many of us say we have no willpower, but I do believe that it is not something anybody naturally instinctively has but it can be developed and worked on and improved and trained. Not easily mind, but it can be done.

Well done. Those buttercups can be hard to resist.
