sorry i know its not cd related but....

this year we said we wouldnt buy each other anything for valentines day as we need every penny this month in particular....
but i thought a text or phonecall to wish me happy valentines would of been nice from my husband who started work at 5.30am this morning..but by 11am i hadnt got anything so i rang him and cried down the phone (i'm an emotional person lol) i text him and apologised and then he said sorry too eventhough by then i knew i had been stupid to kick a fuss...

and just now i have received a huge bunch of flowers at work from him

Men are curious creatures, subtle hints dont work with them. You have to spell it out each time, exactly what you want or else they just go wandering along in their own manly way thinking things are hunky dory.

His interpretation of what you agreed was probably different than yours and now he'll probably be upset that he upset you and hasnt a clue why.

When dealing with men, its best not to assume that they know or understand but make sure by spelling it out.

Awwwh I'm sure your flowers are lovely, dont feel guilty, just make it up to him later by surprising him with something he'd least expect :D

Have a lovely evening.

Well there's something free i can think of that might cheer him and you up later ;)

Don't worry louise, men are TOTALLY different and they don't take much notice of things like this. Oli and i decided not to get anything, he has bought me loads - WHOOPS!

I'm cooking steak for him tonight, form of torture!

Ah bless him for buying the flowers

Men just don't think of things in the same way we do,but he obviously cares and don't worry about getting upset with him.
Enjoy the rest of Valentines Day

At least if i give him 'that' it will be something he hasnt had in a long time so will come as a nice surprise LOLOLOLOLOLOL

We're trying to get him to put on weight!!

Hi Louisa,

It's understandable you might be a little miffed, but men are very strange beings, they must have different thought processes or something.

Yes it is dissapointing, and I can understand it would make you a tad emotional, but you got a decent bunch of flowers out of it in the end ;)

My husband and I haven't bought eachother valentines presents this year, just a card.

My husband is the most unromantic man I have ever met!! In 36 years of marriage, he has never bought me anything for Valentine's Day! He says he doesn't believe in it!

But the soppy so-and-so often buys me flowers or little treats when I least expect it, so I'm not complaining. :)

My hubby bought me a Valentine's card from the Tesco Value Range. It cost him 10p, he had to fold it in half himself and find an envelope to fit it. It was an A4 sheet of paper - the front had what looked like a Tesco bag logo with

Don't feel guilty louisa, he wouldn't of sent them if he'd not wanted to. We don't bother with presents usually (just exchange cards) but i got a lovely bouquet of flowers this morning which was a nice suprise.

Enjoy the rest of your Valentines Day :)

Hi Louisa, Sorry you had a bad start to the day but you might find that he'd ordered the flowers a few days ago and that they were held up with other deliveries, I had a similar Valentines a few years ago and the bouquet was in the back of a delivery van waiting to arrive, by then I had already blown a gasket and behaved badly and then they arrived:eek:!! Hope you both have a lovely evening :)xxx

Valentines day wasnt even mentioned in my household!. Mainly due to last Christmas I told my husband not to buy anything 'big ' this year as we dont have much money. In fact I said we shouldnt buy anything at all. I changed my mind and told him the day before that it would be nice to have something! ( he was off out to get some last minute stuff in town as men do) we had money and he saw I had a small pile for him. Christmas morning comes and I had nothing at all to unwrap...my 3 kids were important, but you still like to feel like a kid at xmas! Turns out hed spent £80 on bits and pieces he fancied for eating at xmas.( I had already braved the supermarket the day before.) I m feeling totally loved in this house!

Forgot to add, because of this, I made him look after the kids and went out all day boxing day to my local pub instead.
