disappointing first weigh in

carry around 5lbs of sugar for a day and then see if you think it isn't a big loss!

Please don't fret - it will not come off in consistent chunks - I have 6lb losses and 1 lb losses but at the end of 12 weeks I have lost over 3 stone.

Try not to focus on the short term - look a the mid term to get a more realistic picture.

The water really does help though
xx

Keep the faith - it will work and quickly too
:D

Aww, 5 pounds is still a brilliant loss!!! :)

THere may be many contributing factors...there have been a few ladies in group who only lost 2 pounds for the first couple of weeks, and they were 100% - not cheating. BBut come the third week and they started rolling down the pounds! Your body will do what it will - as long as you are staying 100%, YOU WILL LOSE, and you will lose fast fast fast!!!

Don't worry - keep with it....you will reap the benefits.

Not to discount your dissappointment though - I know what it is like when you expect a dramatic start, but you will start seeing losses that are more satisfynig for you. Promise!

Hang in there hon!! It WILL work! Honest!!!:)

Thanks for your post. I was 15st 4 before. My diet was AWFUL! I would eat nothing all day, and then at 10pm me and hubby would be starving and get a takeaway.

I suppose it's good I've broken the 15 stone mark, and I KNOW I wont ever weigh that much again, and to be honest this is still the lowest I've been in years.

My husband is doing it too, and he lost 11lbs, and my friend who started (and then dropped out) lost a stone in her first week. They both have a bit more to lose than me, but it's still crushing when people ask!

I wont let it put me off carrying on though, I find not having to think about food liberating. The only thing that was getting to me was not being able to eat anything solid, and I've got bars now so that's something.

I'm going to make extra sure I drink enough water this week, and if I don't lose much next week I'm going to squeam and squeam and squeam! :D

I KNOW that 5 off is better than 5 on (or none off) but I'm still miserable.

I've got a friend starting lipotrim, I'm seriously considering sneaking into her house and stirring sugar into her shakes so she doesn't beat me :ignore: (I'd never do that and will be very proud of her when she does well!)

I'm just generally feeling:badmood:

I know how you feel toller but COME ON> We will do this, we can do this, we are doing this and we will not give up x

hehehe....you have a little evil streak don't you!!! Me like!!! :D

Fear not - for one, men ALWAYS lose faster then women. *******S!! :D

The less one has to lose, the slower it comes off at first. You will be adding up the pounds in no time!!

And don;t worry when people ask you - just tell them you are 100% on the plan, an the rest is down to your body! And then remind them what a rocking body you are going to have in a few months!!! :D

Just focuss on you, 1 day at a time - there is NO WAY that these VLCD dont work, some peoples fat cells are more stubborn than others, others may have binged on carbs carbs and more carbs prior to starting and therefore initial losses are glycogen stores - so rather than glycogen you may have lost more fat.... No 2 bodies are the same tho its easy to compare yourself to others and expect to achieve what they do!
I've learnt - just concentrate on you at the moment to get though the first coiple of weeks and then you will be in the flow.

Best of luck xxxx

That 5lbs banished forever, a big congratulations.

I started in nov and done well, but my son in law started after christmas and is nearly there, annoying aint it.

Keep positive you have done really well, especially not cheating:)

Oooooooh sneak round my house will ya?

Any time matey, but if I catch you tampering wif my shakes I will steal your dawg, poke you in the eyes aaaaaaaand...... *runs out of mean things to do to Tollergirl...*

Keep goin, you will be skinny in no time! (Now go on one of my threads and remind me of this please!)

Toller please be happy with 5lbs - just think that you've lost a bag of spuds!

People lose it differently, some lose more in 2nd or 3rd week and others only lose a pound or so --- plus the more you have to lose the more your losses can be.

Stick with it and you'll soon lose all your weight ...... and don't even think of coming visiting me :D Well go on then, you can come visit but you're not getting near my drinks :D :D

Honestly, honestly, this diet works as promised. I've always been a really slow loser (only lost 7.5lbs in first two weeks) but taking the long view it really has been a stone and a dress size per month.

Hang on in there, just follow the rules and don't obsess from day to day. Do something else to occupy your mind, and let your body take care of itself!

Best of luck - just keep at it!
