I started Atkins last week weighing 11st 3lbs. I have lost 5lbs in my first week. I am doing the diet with my husband. We chose Atkins as its the only diet that suits us both.
I want to do a diary with pics so I can see my progress.
Here's to the new me :)
 
Hello and welcome, great loss for the 1 week. Atkins is so doable, great consistent losses and no hunger or cravings.

Today has been another good day, I have done a big shop and cleaned all the fridge and cupboards out so its now Atkins friendly!
B - boiled egg
L - smoked salmon and prawn salad
D - steak peppercorn sauce and cauliflower cheese.

I have got the Chicken wrapped in bacon too. 2 for £6 is good :). Very tasty too! Xx
 
Has anyone suffered from aching legs on atkins? I was awake last night with it and its driving me mad.
Anyway today was an early fry up for brekkie as I couldn't sleep.
Lunch was a smoked salmon and prawn salad.
Dinner will be fish with a watercress sauce and asparagus tips and broccoli.
 
Yes it's common in the very early days - you need a bit more salt in your diet and that should sort it out. It's just down to unbalanced electrolytes as you flush all that water out.
 
I also take a chelated potassium tablet as/when I need it for Restless Leg Syndrome - but that's more to do with menopause (sigh)
 
Thanks for your help thought I was going mad!! I have had lots of pork scratching in the pub tonight to increase my salt. I knelt down in work today and was in agony !
 
Still 100% Atkins! I feel like I have more energy too which is weird.

L - sardines and tomato sauce, bacon and broccoli
D - lamb shank, sausage, broccoli sticks and cauliflower.

It was lamb shanks from Tesco and the gravy was part of the shank. I didn't need anything else xx
 
Having more energy is a handy side effect of ketosis. Carbs and the insulin spikes and dips they produce make most of us sluggish.
 
Is that why I have more energy? I thought I would be so tired with out carbs. Thanks for the info xx
Day off today so I'm going to Zumba to use up some energy :)

Increased energy is great on atkins....lamb shank dinner looks lovely, I will look for that the next time I am in tesco.
