Hi all, I have been lurking for a couple of weeks and have just plucked up the courage to join.
I was up untill 30mins ago doing CD. I started on friday last week. I dont know why but I just lost control and have eaten chips, 2 eggs, a child size pizza, 3 chocolate biscuits and a flap jack.
And now I am sitting here feeling sick and disgusted at myself and so angry that I am not strong enough to do this. I have a meeting with my CDC tommorow night an I am determined to try to stick to it.

Will what I have eaten put me out of ketosis? Is there anything I can do to prevent it? I was on day 5 but really hungry still is this normal/

I am so sorry for the bombardment of questions, I just feel all over the place at the moment.

May also add I think you are all fantastic and reading through the posts very supportive and having amazing weightlosses- well done

hello human being ............ don't be too hard on yourself........... get back on that horse,,,,,,,,,,, it will have knocked you out of ketosis ............ talk to your cdc and tomorrow is another day ......... hugs to you ................... xx

Yes I would bet it will have knocked you out of ketosis :( Don't beat yourself up about it though, draw a line underneath it and start again tomorrow. Drinking lots of water will help too.

Whenever you get tempted to eat, just think, what do you want more? Those chips/pizza/biscuits that will give you enjoyment for seconds then make you feel dreadful with guilt for hours, or to be slim forever? That's what I've done every time I've been tempted, and each time I've decided I want to be slim more than I want to eat x

Hi thanks for encouraging post mustdoit, love the user name. Do you know long it will take to get back into ketosis? will I have to go through the 3 odd days of headaches, hunger etc? will it effect the weight I have lost so far?
eek sorry for all the questions, complete newbie as you can see.

Hi,
I restarted CD a week past Monday and I had a similar blip through the week but i gave myself a talking to and accepted that I'm in this for the long term and made a decision just to get right back on track the next day. Although I had come out of ketosis, I got back into it fine but I started back on 790... I'm my opinion a bit easier. Maybe you could try that? Keep at it though and as soon as you see your weight dropping you will manage to find the willpower to carry on.
Good Luck.

oops corrine j I think we must have crossed posts, many thanks for your post of encouragement also, I do also really want to lose weight. more so for health reasons as I have PCOS and really would like to get my life back and get rid of all these awful symptoms that go with having PCOS. I think that is why I am so angry with myself.

Congratulations on your weightloss so far, It must be such a wonderful feeling.

Ahh - nevermind, its done now and if you start having continual negative thoughts you'll end up back at the beginning!
Use this blip, as a little lesson that you dont wanna feel horrid like this again...
You'll be back in ketosis in a couple of days, I think the real key is getting past the 1st week, once you got it all under ya belt then you can do anything...
Drink plenty of water and get back in the car for the journey xxxx

Hi Ti@ra -M@ker, many thanks for your suggestion, I have got a feeling that is what my CDC is going to say. I know think I know the reason for the blip, For the past 4 nights I have not been getting to bed until 1Am in the morning and getting up at 6am, so I think I am proberly exhausted, I have also been under alot of stress with work, college etc so I dont think that has helped. Do you have any stratergies for not letting things get in the way of the diet.

Hi hon

Put it this way, if you had bought a beautiful top of the range high class car and it ran out of petrol and you re-filled it with diesel by mistake and it conked out. Would you walk away and leave all that expense on the roadside, or would you do something about it, get it fixed and get on with your journey? You have the answer hun, only YOU can do it. Good luck with your journey xxxxx

Thanks Empy, I feel better than I have for years!

I also have PCOS, I tried to lose weight on several diets before, as I'm sure you know it can make weight loss very difficult. My symptoms have improved dramatically since I started CD. Before the diet, I didn't have periods for 5 years, they are now regular :) My skin's 100% better, I generally feel so much better. I've read a few articles that recommend a Very Low Calorie Diet such as CD for PCOS, and that even a 5% weight loss can make a big difference to the symptoms - it certainly has for me!

Thanks corrinne for such a positive post, It has made me even more determined now, just to get rid of all these awful symptoms.

Cheryl Thank you for your er intresting way of comparing the CD journey and blips, it is so true and a great way of looking at when tempted to it.

I really want to thank all of you, you really are all so great. You have all certainly made me feel loads better and much more positive.

What a fantastic and inspirational way of putting it Cheryl. That really helped me too!
Empy, like the others have said - keep your eye on the goal and the way you WANT to feel. Sure, this is a tough diet but it will be so worth it in the end. It is an investment in yourself and probably you have never done that for yourself. Most of us spend so much time investing in and caring for other people that we forget how valuable we are ourselves.
Hang on in there and it WILL get better. The great thing about this forum is that we all support each other whether we have blips or successes and you can always be honest in here without being judged. For sure, most (if not all) of us have been where you are.
Take care and stay strong

The answers the others have come up with are really good. Remember tomorrow is another day and then put today behind you and think of all those pounds coming off
