TTC and CD, good or bad idea?

Hi all,

Well I've not be around for a long long time and as I expected, I've gained all the weight I lost. I fell pregnant in Nov however, a our recent 12 week scan, it revealed we'd had a missed miscarriage and I had to have a D&C last Wed to remove the baby. :(

I felt uncomfortable when I was pg because I didnt want to look fatter once I had a bump coming along but I couldn't do anything about it. Im currentl 5'6" a size 16 and 13st. Even 1.5 stone would be nice.

The problem I have is, do me & Hubby restart CD on Mon and carry on until we fall pg again or is it not healthy for me in particular when were trying to conceive? Do I try eating heathily?

Any opinions would be greatly received. :)

Personally, if it were me, I'd lose the weight first, then work up through the plans before trying to conceive. Then you are in better health before getting pregnant. Many people do SS and get pregnant, but it's not ideal and wouldn't be recommended by either your GP or CDC. The effects on the unborn baby from only having 415 cals per day can't be desirable.

Yes that's exactly what I'm doing, I don't want to run the risk of not realising I'm pregnant while on SS, I want to be eating healthily to give me and the baby everything we need.

By getting to your ideal weight before TTC you are giving yourself the best chance of conceiving and having a healthy pregnancy - good luck!

Hi,
First of all can I say how sorry I am for the loss of your baby sending you lots of hugs :grouphugg:
I am myself trying to get pregnant, after losing my daughter Angelika at birth. I need to lose the weight just in case we have to go for IVF but am still trying in the meantime to conceive au natural!
My friend just found out she was pregnant , she has been follwing LL for about 5 months, she found out yesterday that she is 8 weeks pregnant and all that time been on LL, Doctor says that it hasnt done any harm and in fact is probably better because she has not been able to drink alcohol or eat heavily processed foods or dairy.
Good luck to you hun...xxx

Hi lana,
Firstly i want to say i'm so so sorry for your loss, I went the throught the same last April so i know what you must be feeling.
Even though after our loss the only thing i wanted to do was get pregnant again asap, hubby and i decided i should try cambridge and loose as much weight as i could (i was 17st 7lb) I have to say now looking back it was the best decision as i realised i needed that time 1)to loose some weight and 2) to get over the misscarriage. The advise i had was, if trying to conceive it's best to stick to 1000plan as SS isn't enough kcals. Good luck hunny what ever you want to do and make sure you give yourself plenty of time to heal xxx:hug99:
