Lous diary - onwards and inwards!

Hi everyone,

Ok - about me... I'm 28, live in Shropshire and am single but dating (that needs a whole diary of it's own).

I started losing weight about 2 years ago and have slowly lost 6.5 stone, going from a size 26 to a size 16/18. My reason for doing this is because I want to be a police officer, I already work for police as a civilian but want to make the move into uniform. To do this I have to have a BMI of less than 30. Thankfully, I'm pretty much there on that front, however, since getting there I've stopped losing weight. I know it isn't the end of the journey and still want to lose at least another 2 stone.

After losing 5 stone I came to a halt with slimming world so moved to weight watchers, I lost another 1.5 stone, but have now gone back to slimming world (extra easy) and have put on 5lbs in 2 weeks, arrrgh.

So enough is enough, I'm taking control and starting slim and save. I'm going to take it one week at a time and most importantly.... NOT WEIGH MYSELF. My reason for this is, if I've lost, I'm more tempted to cheat as I think "I've lost 2lbs, so this biscuit will be ok", on the flip side, if I've not lost, I get upset, wonder what the point is, and still have a biscuit!!!

I ordered my packs last night, so hoping they'll arrive soon, until then I'm going low carb in preparation.

Any help, support and friends will be much appreciated

hey lou, welcome to the club!

first off, congrats on the weightloss so far :)

great to see youre so determined already and with a very worthy goal in mind. i personally find with the vlcd, the scale issue isnt a problem compared to diets id done in the past. when i was given leway to cheat and the numbers did/didnt go down, id react in the same way you did, but because i know there are rigid rules (that are fairly easy to stick to), i know the weight will come off despite what the scales say that day.

its almost like its foolproof! i tried slimming world and was the same as you - gained weight. but this one eliminates all doubt and frustration because on a low carb 600 cal diet, its impossible not to lose.

good luck im excited for you for when your packs arrive. what did you order?

I ordered them last night so hopefully will be here by wednesday, is good that I can slowly wean myself off carbs in preparation though.

Well done for losing 6 1/2 stone that's amazing! I'm loving S&S, been on it for 4 weeks now and the time has flown by. This site is AMAZE, in the first couple of weeks I used to just sit and read through long threads to take my mind off it

Lots of support here whenever you need it - let us know what you think about the packs :D I heart the oatmeal, but some others think its rank.

Hi lou (brilliant name), thanks, I'm super excited about getting my shakes and also getting control back into my life. Typically I went to corner shop earlier to get fairy liquid and saw a poster advertising a brand new ww class starting up my road on Friday!! Typical, I'm going to stick with s&s for a few weeks / month and then go back to ww to hopefully continue losing.

Glad you're at week 4 and still enjoying it too, yay x
 
Wow you've done amazingly well, well done you! I live in Shropshire too :) How much more would you like to lose?

Not far from me at all! I used to live near Bridgnorth, I'm now in Bishops Castle which is about 20 miles from you I think.

You've lost so much already I have no doubt that you'll absolutely smash the last 2 stone and they'll be gone in no time!
 
Ohh it's super pretty down there, am v jealous!

Tomorrow is the day!!! Eek.

I'm going to have 3 s&s products and 100g chicken, need to pick up some multi vitamins too.

0830 - shake
1300 - shake
1700 - shake
2100 - 100g chicken
 
Good luck! You know you can have veg with the chicken too right? 200g of anything from the list, which includes things like shallots, green peppers, mushrooms etc
 
Thanks hun... Yeah, but I'm going to cinema so going to grab chicken straight from fridge when I get home, normally I'd have veg and make it into proper meal.

Nervous and excited now! Xx

Hi guys.... I remembered what you said and have come to say hello as in the danger zone... Just got home from work and v tempted to eat, but no!

I'm feeling ok, just had my third shake (raspberry), not as nice as toffee or chocolate though.

Going to have a milky coffee in a bit then off to cinema at 7pm, saving my chicken breast for approx 9.30 when I get home.

I've got my fitness test in jan... Wi be a whole lot easier with a stone off (at least) x
 
Didn't know there was a raspberry shake! Was it alright? Stay away from the kitchen cupboards and fridge! You've not got long until you go out now, what can you do to distract yourself?

It was alright but not that great!

Well.... I had a milky coffee and decided to have a hard boiled egg to tide me over... I put 2 in the pan to be more economical and have one tomorrow.. You guessed it, I ate both. Feel much better now though, will enjoy cinema and be able to concentrate on film rather than my tummy!

So not a 100% day but not a write off either. Going to try and get to the gym tomorrow but nothing to strenuous!! X
 
An extra egg won't hurt, could have been far far worse. Hope you enjoy the cinema.
 
Hi bananas, yay, some one who understands the nightmare that is dating!! Hehe, have been on a second date tonight, won't be a third as he's too nice! I'm so silly though, I go for bad guys then wonder why I get hurt!! Duh.

Just had 100g of chicken and it was gorgeous. Yay to day 1 done!!

In total I had... 3 shakes, milk, 2 eggs and 100g of chicken, the eggs were my naughty hunger soother, but roll on day 2!

Hehe - was sat in cinema just thinking about food!!! Xx
