SS & AAM confusion

Yes thats right, You do 4 weeks SS and then on the 5th week you AAM, then go back to 4 weeks SSing.

some people choose not to AAM, but your CDC wont recommend it. A lot of people find it scary because they havent eaten conventional food for a few weeks, but in a lot of cases the change in what you are consuming can actually increase your weight loss that week & stop a plateau.

It makes a nice change from just packs as well!

Hi,

I've read posts of folks who have done long periods of time on SS with no added meals. I'm confused, as I thought we had to add a meal for week 5, then return to SS for another month and so on. Isn't this so?

MaryA :)

Hi Mary.....you are right....most people SS for four weeks and then do Add-a-meal week (AAM).....but some people decide that AAM isn't for them and their GP can send a letter to say that they won't be doing AAM and that the GP will monitor Blood Pressure, weight etc etc. - these people can SS for longer......

Otherwise - it is compulsory to do AAM if on CD

What what what??? Do they???? Oooh you cant say somethin like that without telling all!

It is being changed to 12 weeks SS without an AAMW unless someone wants to do that.

Having done SS for 8 weeks including one AAMW I personally wouldn't want to go 12 weeks

OMG really??? I thought LL had to add milk or something at some stage because the NICE guidelines said something about not being able to SS for so long.... I couldnt do SS for 12 weeks straight!

I did lipotrim, and you're supposed to AAMW, but each time I did it took me a ehile to get into the mood frame for SS again. This time I will SS until I crack, then AAMW,

NICE guidelines are changing!

LL do no AAM at all!! They can go months without but they have to see a GP every month.

Do you think its up to us to start AAM week, or should your CDC mention it? Mine never has yet,(17 weeks in) and I thought it was because I am a lot bigger that most people. I did ask if we could talk about it at my last weigh in, but she was busy that day. I am definitely going to mention it at my weigh in tomorrow, because my weight loss has slowed right down, and I saw Ponypony say in another thread that hers speeded up a bit after her AAM.

There are a lot of changes on the way all CDC's should receive notification shortly, this was posted out on Friday in the Insider mag.

The new plans and rules take effect from 1st February.

Full details of the changes will be released once CDC's nationwide have received their paperwork and had a chance to absorb it.

I will be more than happy to answer any queries then.

Linda
