My coccyx hurts - anyone else in the same boat?

Does anyone else have this problem?

I've only noticed it over the last couple of weeks or so. I have lost just over 4 stones in weight and have only another 9 pounds to go to get to my target and it's the only thing I can think of to account for it hurting. It isn't agony but pretty uncomfortable (please don't mention the doc's - I don't think I could go and talk about my bum bone).

I vaguely remember Cerulean posting about this on the LL bit as her weight got right down. I think she said it sorted itself out (her body readjusted I suppose) but I'm not absolutely sure and it might be worth doing a search on her name to see if you can locate the posts. Well done for getting so slim though! Someone I knew who started the diet gave her big motivation as "I can't wait to be BONY!"

Thanks for the reply Peridot. I'll check out Cerulean's posting.

Although I'm not far off target I do have fat on my thighs, knees and hips still so do need to lose more and I was thinking that if I've still got meat on my hipbones how can my coccyx be so bony. I hope it does calm down or I just get used to it soon - it ain't very comfy!

Hi Sweetpea

I have found myself being a bit more 'boney' in that region! As I'm always cold (even before CD!) I quite often sit on the floor with my back to the radiator whilst I'm reading. Lately I've noticed its becoming more uncomfortable to sit with my knees up, and can only put it down to less padding - I'm not complaining tho!!!!

Typically my bums and boobs are vanishing and I'm still carrying weight on my hips and thighs. Just hope some of that shrinks as well by the time I get to target - I guess I'm just never satisfied :D

Hi Kirsten,

I don't want to sound like I'm complaining either as I definitely prefer it now I've lost most of the weight. As long as that's what it's caused by I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Just had a thought - wonder how people like Victoria Beckham and the other skinny celebrities cope - they must surely have bony bums! Ha ha

Can't imagine Posh does much sitting down - just stands there posing and pouting waiting for the next photo opportunity :giggle:

i have the same problem now, cant enjoy a really long bath anymore as my tailbone hurts! also my boyf has started complaining that im too bony to sit on his knee, but i dont mind! at least hes not complaining that im too heavy!

Just remembered - I think Cerulean said the fat she had left (and there wasn't much judging by the photos!) kind of re-distributed around her body and all's well that ends well.

Thanks everyone for the replies - I really hope it starts to redistribute soon as I went to the cinema last night and had to keep swapping cheeks and was a bit worried I might irritate the people behind us.

Hi Sweetpea,

I had the same problem after losing 5st-6st and only went on to get worst as I lost more weight. I already have an ongoing promblem with my back. I was refered by to my Neurosurgeon and I had yet another MRI scan and they found little to nothing wrong, though my boney bum was telling different. I was treated with injection with wore off within the week :(.
