Let's set a goal for Valentines?! Who's with me!?!!!

OK... As some of you may have read, I lapsed over Xmas and haven't been weighed yet so I'm counting the past week as a zero weight loss... maybe even a 1/2lb gain...

Anyway, thinking positively, I am back on track now... on my 4 foodpacks a day... I just wondered, I wanted to set a minigoal, so I'm planning on making one for Valentines?! Does anyone else have a mini-goal to reach by Valentines... and if so, what is it?!!

What do you think is realistic for me?? Errrm... 10 weeks away I suppose it is...(check below for my weight loss so far!) I was thinking 40lbs?? Is this too much/too little?

Any suggestions are appreciated!! (im rubbish at setting my own goals) xx

ill aim for the 40 lbs by than but i should at least hit the 30lbs at least :)
if i manage that wahey :)
 
I seem to thrive on these mini goals ,so im in 40lbs is very do able if we get our heads sorted but my weight loss is starting to slow just a little so im going to go for 30lb .will start myself a little ticker on the first .
 
I'm in too! I suppose 35lbs would be an official estimate, but you seem to be losing so fast, Claire, that 40lbs seems quite realistic for you!

I'd like to get to goal, whatever that is, at about that time. My ticker is just a guesstimate- I'd like to be a size 10, though I'm rather shy of saying so, as it seems such an amazing thing to want for a 'forever fat' girl like me...
 
Think 40 lbs by VD is to high , maybe set it for 28lb ? after all thats 14 lbs a month then you won't get upset .... Do you think ? Well i never really join in on setting goals ... maybe i should ... well when my CDC gets in touch who knows i could be changing my mind . Good luck anyway
 
I would like to join. I really like the little goals but have real problems achieving them. So maybe this time I will. So here's to a new year restart! I am going for 20lbs
 
Setting a goal in the future is a very very positive step in anything you do.

Making sure it is realistic is also important but also a challenge as well.

Hence in 10 weeks a 40 pound loss for a lady is certain achievable and also a challenge as well that would require total focus, a lot of water and to stick to the diet.

Therefore sounds like a great challenge to me, along the way you will find if you keep track of that goal in maybe something like a spreadsheet or even just a notebook then it will help keep your eyes on the prize, make sure that if you reach the target that you congratulate yourself and realise that it was you that acheived it and then set the next goal and attack that with the same enthusiasm.

Key to losing weight and keeping it off is being positive about it and remember that perception is projection, if you think it is tough and hard and you can't do it then you won't, if you can imagine yourself slim and healthier, and then do the diet with a smile on your face and enjoy the journey then you will find you are going through the finish line and will think "was that all I had to do?"

Losing Weight - 1% In Your Tummy, 99% In Your Head....
 
i have joined the thread over on cambridge diet for the valentines day challenge, their christmas one was great.
Challenges really help me get through those tough days where youo get fed up of the food packs and just want to eat something.

Good luck everyone ( i have chosen a 28lb target)
 
hahahaha.... oh dear ive just realised I can't count and although 40lbs for 10 weeks is acheivable, valentines is only 6 weeks away!!! :rolleyes:

I think we all need to rethink our plans!!!!
 
Good point - funny that none of us noticed!!!

OK I'll go for 16 lbs by Valentine's Day - doesn't sound that much, but at my current rate it'll be a challenge.
 
lol ok cool... as its 6 weeks I'm going to go for 25lbs.... thats nearly 2 stone right... I think thats do-able!

Me: 25lbs...

To the people who set goals before, can u reset them for a 6 week challenge rather than 10 and I'll add u to the list! xx

Tracie here, found you finally, couldn't remember the web link to lead to this forum. Like you I totally lapsed over Xmas.... and am finding it hard getting back on with it. Drop in today - no gain but no loss:sigh::sigh:, but then hardly surprising. Gotta get back on the proverbial horse.

Hi everybody - I am a relatively new Lighter Lifer (7 weeks) and am at the same meeting as lighterlifeclaire. As far as goals go I am going on holiday at Easter and am planning to wear a bikini:eek: so need to be a much smaller me.......or will frighten the natives.
 
So are we starting to count right from now? I have a drop-in on 31st. Do I count from then, or do we just 'do it ourselves' on the scales every day???

Sorry to be stupid - haven't done one of these before. :confused:

Tracie!!! Did u get the message about Saturday?? I turned up because I didn't get a message to say it was cancelled...!! I was supposed to go to a pop in today but it didn't happen... 9.30am on a saturday is toooo early... anyway... day 2 im back on the packs... and im getting headaches. great.

Zombie... i havent done one of these either, just thought it wud be easier if i set a target... You can do the weight loss from the 31st if you want?? I know I ain't going back until well, atleast a few more days so im doing it from the weight of my last weigh-in... :rolleyes:
 
Hey Claire, good 2 hear from you. have been playing with this forum trying to work it out, must be a little slow - new to forums and chat rooms - poor old girl.

Didn't go to meeting - thought it was supposed to be Thurs - I got a text to say Aisa could not make it so it wasn't going ahead. Went in today, they said you were due in. I walked all the way - thought might help me loose a pound before weigh in - obviously did not work. Agh well, tomorrow's another day........ buggared up today... need to get back on track, it's true what they say, hard to get back on once you've lapsed.... gonna do it though. We must exchange e-mail/mob nos next meeting as it woould have been useful over the last week or so to keep each other on straight n narrow!

Go girl, 2 days, nearly at the top of the hill!
 
just dont get addicted tracie! although its a good distraction for when u want to eat!!

Its definately true what they say about getting back on... its been 100 times worse this time round and ive got a killer headache that i cant get rid of... even with more water...

we'll definately exchange no's at the next meeting - im thinking of popping in on thursday? I have plenty of packs to last me until then as i didnt use them for about 8/9 days over xmas. I dread going for a weigh in because I don't want it to say I've put on!! By thursday I should be back in ketosis and would have maybe lost 1/2 lbs... hopefully!!

Maybe I should of rang them today, I just didn't see the point... oh well... I'm actually looking forward to it being back on track on regular tuesdays, because the whole mix-up of xmas/pop-ins has just thrown me.

Are u going to set a mini-goal for valentines?!?! You have to now that ur a member! x
 
I am going in on Thurs = 3.15pm, gotta take the kids with me though as am working, should be interesting, mind you it is literally in, wee, weigh, collect yummy food packs and bog off. Let me know when you are popping in if it's after me then I can leave my number and e-mail address with stella to give you!

who is stella?!?!! do u mean sonia?! lol!! Yeah u can leave them with her... I will arrange to go after 3.45 to pick them up! (and get weighed... boooo!)

Jan 1st should be a walk in the park... if u dont eat, i wont... haha!!

As for valentines, yeah its about 6 weeks and I think 4lbs a week is about average for how far in we are... 24lbs is good... i reckon thats achievable! You'll have to keep me updated, even though ill see u every tuesday anyway!

Maybe i'll try and get the other two to set one... although I think aisha will be going onto Management soon.

Anyway, leave ur details with SONIA (not stella) and ill text u once ive got um!

How about reading other peoples post on here and see how much they lost in that space of time ?
