He guys,

I'm on my 3th week of cambridge and i'm feeling and doing very well. Now I have a little problem. My sister is going to emigrate from the Netherlands (she's going to live in Thailand!) and she and her family invited us for a "goodbye" dinner, along with 30 other people. We're going to a Chinese restaurant but as i feel now, i don't wanna eat at all. How do you deal with these occassions?

Hand on heart just don't eat! It is that simple...

Doesn't stop you having a nice time with friends and family and just say you aren't eating but you'll find you still have a brilliant time and the sense of satisfaction the next day will beat any chinese meal.

You are doing very very well and hence no point in rocking the boat.

I'm with Mike on this one, I have been out to several dinners and lunches whilst on CD and I just have a couple of bottles of mineral water and a coffee - if you possibly can try not to eat.

My Friend Recently Went On A Family Meal And Before Hand She Rang The Restaraunt And Explained She Was On A Special Diet And Would It Be All Right To Bring Her Own Food .they Were Great About It They Even Got Her Some Zero Coke To Drink So Maybe You Could Take A Bar Or Brik With You .she Took A Soup And They Made It Up For Her Then She Had Half A Shake For Pud .give It A Try .enjoy Your Family Gathering Xx

I agree with Mike and Georgie!!!

I was at a family christening today, the food afterwards was a huge cooked breakfast buffet and there were huge cookies and choc au pain and other danish pastries.....

Didn't touch a thing (that's a lie I manhandled the sausage I was chopping for my little boy) Nobody stared at me, I had my choc brick and glasses of water. I felt really proud, it smelt lovely but I really enjoyed seeing all the family again. When we got home my lovely husband told me everyone kept saying to him how great I was looking, they told me too but it's nice to hear good things at least twice.
Enjoy the company and don't feel bloated or guilty.

Thanks.......

Thank you guys, my mind is set.........i'm not going to eat but stick to my diet.

Hugs,

Botozi, a suggestion! why don't you meet up after the meal? That way you avoid all the questions and awkwardness while others eat? i don't believe in self torture and chinese aswell, might be course after course!
