Thinking of swapping over to JUDDDD?!

Hey- I have been back on CD Soul Source for nearly a month now- still got a fair old bit of weight to lose- am just under 14 stone. Just wondering really what your wise opinions would be about swapping over to this...

a) Would I be able to swap straight away? What affect would that have on my weight loss? or would I need to Add A Meal or do 790 or move up the stages...?
b) Is it ok to just have my cambridge shakes on Down Days?
c) How does the whole hunger thing work here on off days? Am I right in saying Ketosis is a thing of the past on this diet...
d) Generally what are ur feelings and experiences of using this diet??
e) Any positives and negatives

Would be suuuuper grateful of any feedback!

thanks
xx

What is JUDDDD ?

Johnsons up day down day diet

I think there is a JUDDD forum, it may be a good idea to post the question in there. This being a cambridge thread I'm not sure that we have the answers.

Think they maybe more helpful

Hi BBFM, I know afew on here have done it, not sure anyone is still on though, check out the forum for it, I think its under other diets.

As far as I can tell you can still have your CD shakes on your DD, thats how some on here have done it x

You can have anything you want

I am sure that half my excess weight was put on during the numerous 'last suppers' (and lost weekends ) I had before starting a new diet on Monday!!!

Maybe others have more self control?

I once did a diet where for an hour a day you could eat what you wanted. I stopped when I put on eight pounds!

I applaud you for only putting on 8lbs!!

You jest! :D Honestly?

How on earth would that work?

I did a pros and cons of the diet somewhere here. The main idea is the Down days are so low (most do under 500 calories) and they assume a non-binging but very comfortable Up day...so say 2,300 cals....would bring the calories to about 1400. Most people would lose eventually on that.

And of course, there isn't a chance for the metabolism to slow.

:D Me too :D

Whoops. There is another diet where you can eat what you like for 5 hours. No food for the other 19 hours mind you.

They reckon the average person eats about 500 cals less each day doing this.

As for the binging bit on the Up Days, or with this other diet of 5 hours of free food, since it happens so often, I think they assume most people would settle into a normal eating pattern.

Sorry BBFM,

I see you were looking for some sensible feedback.

As you have gathered, I know nothing about this JUDDDD diet. It does have the distinction of being, probably, the only diet on the planet I haven't tried. :D I do know that it wouldn't work for me.

On only two diets have I ever lost weight - Atkins and CD. I won't knock Atkins but I must be honest and say that I feel more alive on CD.

The secret of losing weight is to find a programme you can live with. With some diets, you are in for the long haul. With CD, the immediacy of the results is so amazing that it dawns on you that losing weight is a certainty.

In finding this forum, you have found a valuable tool in your quest to lose weight and gain health. Please ask yourself why you would want to try anything else? We are all (mostly) lovely - stay with us BBFM.:D

Five hours?! I would put so much away that I wouldn't need to eat for another 19!

Hands up anyone on this person who thinks they are 'average'? Nope. I can't see any hands up. We are all above average.:D

A 'normal' eating pattern? How I wish I knew what that was.

Good luck though to anyone starting this diet. I am much too indiciplined.

Well I did the JUDDD and I have to say that whilst in theory it should work and for some it probably does, for me it accentuated my 'all or nothing' problems! I found the down days got harder and harder and the up days were spent thinking about how hungry I would be on the down days!

Having said that it is quite a fun thing to try and if you think you might like it, why not. It would certainly mean you could have a great Christmas Day but rather a lean Boxing Day!!

I did a diet once-200 cals ev ery two hours. Worked on the principle of 1000 cals over the day. I liked the idea but never went back to it! Difficult around work but it was pretty healthy!
