I have just rang counciller for the first time to arrange a meet (for this wednesday) and am shocked to be told it will cost £37.50 a week to do this diet? Is this right?

It was only £32 in august with someone else... :sigh:

CDC's can charge what they like, I pay 35 for 21 of anything inc bars and tetras so it's all much of a muchness I think, if you've a couple of councellors near you why not ring another see if there's any difference. xx

I charge £34.65 for 21 sachets...

Hi

CD prices have gone up this year-the cost price to Councellors has gone up twice to my knowledge.

£37.50 doesn't sound too bad maybe slighty higher than average, many C's now charge more for bars and tetras and I think the 'usual' price is £1.65 per pack, £1.85 for bars/tetras. So perhaps the £37.50 includes some of those too. Water flavour £6.50ish, mix a mousse £2.75ish.

C's can of course charge what they like, though there are guidelines advised by head office. Some C's provide a much more supportive service than others so don't go by cost alone. Also I have heard some C's charge a one off joining fee, this is definitely not the norm and in my opinion should be considered carefully before you part with your money.

Are you 5'7" or taller cos if so you ought to have 4 packs a day.

thanks guys i am 5 foot 7 yes... just £37.50 i am shocked especially that when i quoted in leicester in august they charged £32-35 ....

she is the only councller in our area...

Mine charges £34.65 for 21 shakes or soups. Which makes £1.65 a shake. The bars are £1.92 each so would make the week more expensive if i wanted to add these.

You may or you may not get side effects.

You'll just have to wait and see!!

The manky mouth and the death breath are worth the end results!

hi
lol manky breath made me smile. i am 5ft 9 so it costs me more cause need an extra shake a day but it has been worth every penny. Earlier this year considered surgery which would of cost me 8 times as much. You are only having this so thats your food allowance for week. We use to order takeaways eat out so now really its a saving. Good luck to you.:party0011:

Hi,

Don't be under any illusions, the first few days may be tough physically though you may be lucky and sail through it but please be realistic and plan a some quiet days for your start. It's so worth hanging on and gritting your teeth, once your into ketosis you will generally feel better.

You can try to minimse your carb withdrawal symptoms by following the CD guidelines to the letter. Prepare your body by reducing your carb intake and upping your water at least a week before starting to SS. Also if you are a coffee drinker be sure to continue when SSing or else you'll be having a double whammy of both caffeine and carb withdrawal!

Best of luck to you & do keep us posted:)

Hi amethyst, wherebouts are you? If you are still in Leicstershire, try Elaine Jakeman, she's my CDC and she's great - I pay about 36.00 for a mix of shakes and bars. Her details are on the CD website - email addy is [email protected]

The other thing to bear in mind of course is that you won't be buying any more food for a while.

I know for a fact I was spending much more than £40 a week on food before I started... :)

(Oh, and I pay £35.70, which again seems to cover 21 of whatever...)
