Feeling guilty...

Hi guys, first time I've posted here, I'm a 28 yr old male that travels a lot with his company, and I'm on my second week of Lighterlife.

The first week I found easy, although I was in a hotel all week and had to sit in my room while my colleagues scoffed away at their free 3 meals a day.
I survived the cold spells by going for a walk outside or having a cigerette.
The first week done, without cheating, and I lost 12.5 lbs. I was amazed, ecstatic.

And now into wk 2, I've had to cheat as the airline misplaced my bag. I tried to be good, I had fruit for breakfast, salad for lunch, but in the evening I couldnt help it. Delayed at the airport in Copenhagen the healthiest thing I could find was a chicken sandwich.

Really dreading the weekly weigh in tomorrow now...

12.5 is an amazing loss well done. Think of it this way how easy would it have been to go oh well they have lost my baggage and then binge on rubbish food, you made a conscious effort to do the best you could and you should be proud of that fact. Well done drink more water and maybe the scales won't be as bad as you are expecting

Thanks Gemma

I just feel like I've let myself down though, if it was wk4 or 5 it wouldnt be so bad, but the 2nd week makes me feel bad.

I;m trying to look at it as a long journey and one that doesnt take just 50 days, so I can make up for it in future weeks. But yet I still kick myself for checking a bag instead of just taking hand luggage.

And I know how my councsellor will react, she's hardly the most subtle or understanding of people.

Thank you for your support though

It is tricky taking anything in hand luggage these days, so don't beat yourself up about it, you did your best.
Just jump straight back on the abstinence wagon, and you'll be fine. Let us know how you get on.

Its hardly your fault for losing the bag, what were you meant to do starve yourself. If she gives you any hassle remind her how much you pay each week and say to her at least i chose the healthiest option i could rather than using it as an excuse to binge. I personally think that if it had to happen its best to get it in week 2 when ya still finding your feet coz you've shown how much will power you got.

And don't look at ya results week to week do it over the month as appartently they avearge out.

Am sure you will still have a good loss you men are lucky you lose it quicker than us girls

Welcome and congratulations on losing 12.5lbs.:happy096: Well done!

I think in your first stressful situation which can come at anytime, it just so happened it came in your second week instead of further on in the diet.

I agree with gdollery that you have done amazingly well in such circumstances and that your choices were excellent.

Your counsellor is there to help you identify those times when old habits kick into action and to offer you suggestions, help and support as to how to overcome them.

If anything, she should be very proud of your progress, for it takes some a long time to be able to stand back and make good healthy options as you have done.

Be sure to let us know how weigh in goes!

Love Mini xxx

Just echoing everything Mini and the others have said. One thing you must not do is starve yourself, and that is waht would have happened had you just gone without completely. It sounds as though you made healthy and well thought through choices for the food you ate as well. Ok so it was a chicken sandwich, but it coudl have been much worse - with chips, or a bag of crisps or big bar chocolate etc etc.

If you do happen to gain weight, it will probably only be the glycogen you have regained, and from my own past experience this comes off again very fast once you are ss-ing again!

Oh & not that I am jealous or anything - 12lb in one week!!!! And you are a fella so your weight will come off much faster than us ladies anyway. natch.........

Well done you, and keep posting for all the support you need. This is the very best place to come!!
