Xen & vegetarian diet

Have we got any veggies on here? A friend has just got a prescription for them & discovered quirk sausage is 6.8g & got me wondering what is xen friendly when you're veggie x

I'm fairly veggie in that I don't like meat, as I didn't bother with quorn products before we've just adapted our usual meals to be Xen friendly.

Does she eat fish? as Fish is ok for xen, just be careful with the oilier ones like salmon.

How do you make it xen friendly? I can't work out where she's gonna get her protein from. No she doesn't eat fish either x

I eat tuna and have a protein shake as I used to get my protein from cheese & eggs.

I used to have those Graze boxes delivered once a week but stopped them because of how high in fat the "healthy" items were. I could eat the seeds and some of the nuts and that was it, mad how you think stuff that is "good" for you actually is quite the opposite.

Beans full of protein

god i wud never go vegatarian , my friend is one and she looks ill all the time and is always catching colds and viruses. we need meat :) x

Then she obviously doesn't eat a healthy vegetarian diet. My sister snd her family have been veggie for 20 years and all fit and healthy . Like carnivores it depends what you eat whether or not you are ill.

I know this is an old thread but I thought I would add to it. I am vegetarian. I eat a lot of beans, grains and lentils for protein. I either make lentil dahl, lentil casserole, lentil shepherds pie, creamy veg spelt (ainsley) flavored cous cous (again ainsley) I have these with laods of veg and salad. I also eat orzo salads, "fried" rice with veg in, quorn mince with onion and gravy with lots of veg. There's loadsa ways to eat healthy when you are vegetarian,. The human body doesn't need meat and isn't actually designed to eat meat. I take pics of all my meals and add them to Facebook folders so I can look back on them and get ideas.

Lol, must admit I thought that! Scientific opinion does seem to be divided on the subject, however. x

Im afraid sammy the caveman has it right . It's exactly what the different teeth were designed for. We weren't however designed to eat as much as we do as our bodies can't digest the quantises we consume very well. Hence the link to bowel cancer etc. we were designed to chase it before we ate it though, keeping the fat down.
