I was diagnosed with PCOS on Monday, and tbh it has really upset me. i know i need to lose weight because i have done it before i was a size 24 now a size 16. but i did slimming world for that...... but this time round i cant afford it at all.

I am 19 and need some help, i asked doc for help but they just gave me a sheet for weight loss.

can anyone give me some advice i am really stuck :sigh::cry:

Hi Hun, you have done so well on sw, why can't you carry on but do it on the cheap. I do sw on my own at home and am very limited for cash. Prob is with pcos is that carbs are pretty bad for us, plenty of red day food though, just plan your meals and I'm sure you will do it. I've got along way to go but it doesn't happen over night. Keep at it Hun x

thanks for the reply.. i am finding it really hard at the moment due to the xmas period..

i live with a toddler so bit difficult.. do you know whether i can get the slimmers world book with all the syn values from or whether i can download it free..?

thanks for help xx

I'm not sure Hun. I lost mine and have been struggeling to find another. But the but if this site dedicated to sw is amazing, any questions or syn values that you need are on there and there ate loads of ppl willing to help. X

Hello, I have just been diagnosed with PCOS too and am thinking of going back to slimming world as really struggling to lose weight and have piled the pounds back on since i gave up in August. I hate going to the groups as i have no confidence or will power so I'm gonna try and do it on my own. You can usually get the books on Ebay quite cheap. I'm sure a few people will be selling them on there in a few weeks after they give up on their NY resolutions!

Hiya ladies. Im doing it from home too. Ive seen some of the packs on ebay ... or if theyre too pricey you could just go to the first meeting and pay for that meeting and pack.
Im using my old pack ... sticking to the red / original days as I didnt seem to lose anything with carbs involved. Am using butternut squash, celereac and swede as a potato replacement. Its ok ... not the same but its sonething. Lol.

Let me know how you gals go. :) 1st week home wi tonight ... fingers crossed. :)

Low GI diet for pcos. I saw dietician at docs and they were advising this diet. That was years ago, since then GI has had loads of press. Stay away from bread and empty carbs.
Good luck
