Starting today

Hello

Posting at this god awful hour as my baby girl has been up crying with teething for 2 hours.
I'm sat outside her bedroom listening to make sure she's back to sleep properly before I bother trying to sleep myself! Going to feel yucky in the morning!

I'm starting Judd tomorrow/today (Thursday) on a DD & just wanted to say hello to everyone following it.
I've been calorie counting for a couple of months but have a lot to lose (40lbs) so thought I would give this a try as it sounds to be great at giving good losses whilst also suiting my cravings on up days.

I hope everyone is enjoying this diet & getting the weight loss they need, I look forward to joining u in weight loss success shortly

Hi Gemma!

You poor thing, hope you're little girl is feeling better! I have 2 little ones too but neither of them ever suffered from teething so don't really know how horrible it can be.

Good luck to you today and well done on deciding to start! Welcome on board :) See how you feel today, you might be super tired and need to eat today, you could then always start with up day too! The most important thing to do is to never think you've failed! If you fall off, get back on the next day and never look back! We all have bad days ;-)
I am sort of doing JUDDD, only that instead of down days I am doing complete 24h fasting. But I will do that only until Christmas and then return to JUDDD.
If you need any help or just chat, we are here :) xx

Thanks very much for your lovely message.
So far im doing ok, have been a bit hungry but nothing terrible which is surprising as I do generally eat a lot when I'm tired.
Isla finally got to sleep at 4:30am (thank God for undereye makeup!). I think her molars are coming through because she's been pretty bad for about a week now & has most of her little teeth. She's 16 month old & I can't believe I still haven't had more than 1 week of her sleeping through. Oh well, I'm sure you'll agree that they're totally worth it!

At work today which is keeping me busy & my mind off of food, going to go sit in the park at lunch & read the Alternate Diet Book which came yesterday.

How are you getting on? Have you been following Judd long? x

Oh, it must be horrible for you both! Do you think you know why she's not sleeping through? I had the same problem with my first one, he never slept through until I took his dummy away (he was 15 months then 3 days later he slept through) so with my second one I was smarter and took his dummy off at 6 months and same, few days later he slept through.

Glad to hear you are doing ok. Working always helps you keep your mind off eating, that's why I tend to have my fast days on work days. Having one of them today! Really enjoying feeling hungry and light, haha. Sounds crazy, I know! Been only doing it since last Wednesday and yesterday's weigh in I had lost 10 pounds!

Have you planned what you're eating on your down days? xx

I do think I probably go into her too quickly & am a bit soft at putting her dummy in for her. I've made excuses recently because she's been poorly (coughing so much that it makes her gip through the night) but I think over the long term I probably haven't helped much. Once I'm certain it's not her teeth or ill then I'll toughen up - would be amazing to know that I'm going to get solid unbroken sleep every night!
I've got the Supernanny book & she is getting more attached to the dummy I've noticed so its prob worth me looking at weaning that sometime soon. Thanks for the tip.

I planned what to eat today (mostly meal replacements with fruit & diet coke) & will prob stick to the same for my other dds too.
10lbs is incredible! I can't believe you lost that in 1 week - even the Cambridge Diet doesn't normally produce that kind of a loss!
I'm looking forward to weigh in nxt week, if I lose even 3lb it'll be a big motivator.

I've done the Cambridge Diet before & could never stick 100% at it for more than a week so I'm happier with how this diet is more flexible.
I'm planning to weigh in next Wednesday morning - when's your weigh day? Are there many others on here following at the moment - most of the posts look quite old?

It's good to know that if I fall off the wagon 1 day I can just treat it as an up day & move on - a big plus in my mind as my 'failures' before have tended to drag on & on ; )

I know what you mean, I used to be like that as well my thankfully my partner is a bit tougher so he sorted it all out :) I just couldn't stand the sleepless nights anymore, I was tired and depressed and knowing that taking the dummy off will solve everything - I just had to do it! Good luck to you!

I am probably losing a bit more because I am fasting every other day. And well, I have about 70 odd pounds to lose! So I am sure it will slow down. I would be happy with 3 pounds next week as well!

I have done every diet under the sun and never stick to any of them. They are either too restrictive or time consuming. I truly believe in calorie counting but then I don't have the time or energy to count every single thing every single day. I am happy to go one day without food if I know I can eat what I like the next without counting stuff. My weigh in days are Wednesday as well! Exciting, I have a weigh in buddy! I think there is only myself and one other girl doing it :) Well, like I said, I am not doing proper JUDDD as I fast rather than have low days but there are quite a few girls doing intermittent fasting with me under "All other diets" forum. It's called Eat Stop Eat. And like you said it is good to know you can carry on without constantly worrying whether you have ruined it or not :)

Hi B

How was your weekend?

Thanks for the encouragement, haven't quite got Isla off of the dummy but have significantly reduced how much she has it. So far so good, she's been sleeping through since Thursday night! I just started leaving her a bit instead of rushing in & have started pulling her dummy out once she's asleep which randomly seems to help

How have you got on the dieting this wkend?x
